Re: Flazko's Madden 18 Sliders and Settings

All of these slider threads feel like that archer-balloon video that's going around. Just keep watching expecting something to happen:P

But seriously, probably right to wait for the patch. I'm a bit worried because Clint said something about players not liking the insta-sheds, but I think they bring a very necessary dynamic to the game it's been missing. I hope it doesn't get tuned out of existence.

I hope to get some work done this weekend on the game. See if I can really nail down what that reaction time slider's doing. I just kinda realized I haven't looked at it with zone coverage much. I do know play action has seemed to not work at all vs. zone, so we'll see.

Is there any particular thing you'd like me too take a look at, Flaz?

Would you observe just the reaction time slider and coverage slider and maybe the injury slider. I think that's it. I'm trying to he patient until patch because I know the defensive coverages will be adjusted greatly.... I just don't understand how the hell we pay $65 for an incomplete game... What about those kids or hard working people who don't have access to internet so they can't get these updates? I think it's bologna!

Ok I just played a half against the packers with the pass reaction and coverage sliders at zero just to see what happens.....the cpu sliders are definitely not reversed! Coverage was really bad on the cpu side.

User coverage however was like glue! It was way better than it had been in the first three games.

If you have reaction at zero since they are reversed, where would you put user coverage.

So I been using the pass reaction sliders at 10 for me and CPU..and pass coverage at 80 for both and the CPU passing seems realistic and fine but..no matter who I play as I keep throwing like 80% completion games with 300 yards passing.

I guess I need to fix the reaction slider for CPU?

So at this point I'll try to push up penalty sliders
Just a bit concerned about game changing because at the moment I'm getting really good game scoring and stats.

Do you all think penalty sliders changing can affect the balance i created??

Great comments and points by both of you, Flazko and Adembroski. I've got something that's working for me, that I may wind up rolling with - to the point where I may disconnect and not do the patch update. Josh's QB fix and redzone game planning have helped tremendously. I addition, I've gotten the sliders to minimize the defensive pass coverage deficiencies that came with this game upon initial release. My concern is that this patch drops in a couple of weeks, which may or may not fix a few issues, but creates more problems. Maybe I'm being pessimistic, but this has happened repeatedly in the past. With these "user patches" that we've created here, the game doesn't play too bad.

Worse case scenario: EA dev's fix the broken parts of the game that they sold to us, but in turn break something else. Thus, we're now into that vicious cycle of waiting for the next patch. Rinse. Wash. Repeat.

Re: Flazko's Madden 18 Sliders and Settings

Well, I honestly haven't had this much fun with Madden in forever so thank you. Sliders for the most part have been great. My stats are a bit skewed since I'm using 10 min quarters with 20 second runoff but the games feel great and varied.

I'm doing a Jaguars franchise and am currently 5-3 losing a tough, nail-biter last night to the Bengals 32-29. It's amazing how you can feel the differences between Qbs with these sliders. For example, Bortles is trash haha. Through 6 weeks he had 5 TDs and 10 picks so I decided that I'd had enough and traded him and a 4th to New England for Garrapollo, who has been great. I then traded TJ Yeldon and a 5th to san diego for Hunter Henry, who has been an absolute monster. My D has been great and together with Fournette, has gotten me to 5 wins.

The games have been incredibly varied as before last night I beat the Colts 36-10, the Rams 12-6 and lost to the Steelers 7-21. Really happy with where things are at. Is it perfect? no. Am I having a blast? yes. Will be interested to see what the patch does.
