    Meatball0311 Madden 18 Sliders

To give you a little background about myself and my gameplay I will begin with saying I have played Madden since it came out back in '88 and I would consider myself an average to below average player. I play strictly single player and at the All-Pro level. I like realism so I play 15 minute quarters and want a competitive game that I actually have a chance at winning at if I limit my mistakes.

So, I aim at toning down the computer's advantage to a competitive level. In Madden 17, I would play at All-Madden level with some slider adjustments. This year I am going to play at the All-Pro level and adjust from there.

After a plethora of games of Madden 18... this is what I am using at the moment.

QB Accuracy - 0 = Total Inaccuracy / 35+ = CPU has high completion rating

Pass Blocking - 0 = Actually the blocking is good at 0.

WR Catching - 0 = USER players drop many passes with or without contact.
The CPU seems to be ok at this level, but should add a little value for realistic gameplay.

Run Blocking - 0 = Actually the blocking is good at 0.

Fumbles - If you move the slider to the left you will have more fumbles.

Pass Def Reaction Time - 0 = Actually seems to be the best setting for this.

Interceptions - For the USER this is a standard slider of 50.

Pass Coverage - 0 = Actually seems to be the best setting for this.

Tackling - 0 = Tackling is realistic. There are many broken tackles and solo tackles. There are also gang tackles that are needed to bring the player down. I do not see any reason to change this value.

Generally I don't like to bump up game speed . But I def think it triggers animations all across the game faster and more efficiently. Do u find the game is too easy with the bump to the user side?

I did notice that I started to score 40+ points per game, so I am currently working on some All-Madden sliders

        Re: Meatball0311 Madden 18 Sliders

I have just come to the realization that All-Madden is just not for me. No matter what I do to the sliders the CPU seems to have the upper-hand and it is just no fun.

So I went back to All-Pro and I updated the sliders on the first post.

ClutchCity brought up a good point as he asked "Are the Sliders Backwards?".

Thru my testing I was noticing somethings did not seem right. The sliders were acting a little weird for my USER. So I am going through the sliders testing one at a time to see how they affect gameplay. I was suspecting that the higher values were not really helping, so it meant I had to find the sweet spot. My idea was that lower values with small increments.

I have updated my sliders. I will probably be keeping an eye on the WR Catching and may need to update it.

These sliders were tested playing 1 quarter at 15 minutes only so I will be playing a whole game now and will post stats.

THE FIRST POST HAS BEEN UPDATED

very fast .... ay caramba !!!! how about fast ... LOL. gonna try ur sliders. do you ever do the playbook work-around ? I get a 4-3 and 3-4 defensive playbook in vault and it has Cover 4 mostly, as cpu has no zone logic. I do not think a patch will do anything, imo. problem is: you have to use two-controllers this year. helps the game a lot, though.

I never played above normal speed. what benefits from very fast/fast and is there a difference b/t the two ? just cause your thread has little action, doe not mean you do not have good input.

            Thanks for ur efforts

I do not think the game speed really has any impact on gameplay. Actually you can set it to whatever suits you. I personally like it on Very Fast. Now I can be completely oblivious to what it actually does, but I thought it just meant not as many cut-scenes during gameplay.

I played my first full game NY Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys and I had an even match with a down to the wire ending. Score was NYG 41 DAL 35 (working on getting the stats posted)

              UPDATED SLIDERS ON FIRST POST

So what are your sliders? Is it the values that are zero or the ones listed below that have the user slider in black and the CPU in red ?

                  PHP Code:
                  LEAGUE SLIDERS
                  PLAYERSKILL/CPU SKILL

                  QB Accuracy
                  25/25
                  Pass Blocking
                  5/5
                  WR Catching
                  40/40
                  Run Blocking
                  5/5
                  Fumbles
                  50/50
                  Pass Def Reaction Time
                  0/0
                  Interceptions
                  35/35
                  Pass Coverage
                  0/0
                  Tackling
                  10/10
Pass Def Reaction Time - 0/0
                  Pass Coverage - 0/0

These are the only ones that are zero.

                    Re: Meatball0311 Madden 18 Sliders

Alright I just tested out your sliders.
I liked the pass catching mechanics and animations. Lots of moments where a WR caught the ball and a db jarred it out.

On offense, I felt like I could pass at will though. Too much separation on these. And I usually play with Jarrod sliders which also has threshold at 0. Same team too.

The run game felt pretty solid all around though. No drastic changes needed there. If the reaction time is gonna be so low, maybe the run blocking can be more difficult.

Thanks for testing and your input. Will do some testing to see about getting some tighter coverage.
