Double check what the time and score look like in those games where the CPU stops running like clockwork.
I've had close games where it's neck and neck the entire way, and even still the CPU will only run the ball maybe once or twice a drive.

By the way, for fans of realistic sliders and how to think about assessing statistical realism, I posted an article on OperationSports called Debunking Common Football Myths and Sliders way back in 2010. The references (to players like Chris Johnson and LenDale White) are very old, but I suspect the same points still hold true in today's NFL.

Re: JoshC1977's Madden 19 Sliders (for CFM Only)

FWIW, I'm still in the pre-season "testing out" these sliders, and I am also in the crowd that believes the injuries are hit or miss. In the first pre-season game, I saw 4 injuries happen in one drive. 3 against my team and 1 against the opponent's. I wasn't doing anything crazy either (i.e. not crazy juke or spin moves, etc.)

Just wanted to say thanks for your hard work, Josh. I know this game can get frustrating at times especially going after that 'realistic' slider set we all look for. I appreciate the hard work you (and the rest of the slider creators) put in year in and year out for this game. Thanks, man.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all of the feedback and support. I think we all know that this current set is not going to be the final version that we see.

I've been putting in a few hours of testing each night after work testing out different combos of fatigue and injury sliders. I'm convinced that these 4 settings (counting MM and CFM values) are the key to unlocking the gameplay of this game.

Basically, these two sliders constitute a major portion of the player locomotion and physics engine. If these aren't just right, problems will occur.

Just hang tight and hopefully we can get a positive result in the near future. I want a slider setup that will hold-up and not one that will fall apart in one patch.

When I got something new for all of you to try out, you can bet I will be on here posting them

Concur with JoshC1977....

On All-Star mode, with all other values being at default settings in CFM and MM settings left alone for the most part, the INJ and FATIGUE sliders really do a number to the game play.

If I may add, futzing with SPEED THRESH also has shown some value in improving game play in general, especially in both HUM & CPU running games.

In my lab, I seem to have been able to tame the rash of injuries while seeing more organic running from the CPU. The secret sauce, at present, seems to be the combo of INJ/FATIGUE/SPEEDTHRESH slider settings. Again, this is only applicable for ALL-STAR mode, cuz ALL-MADDEN is whole another basket case.

I would also add that the CPU game play calling, is much improved in M19.

Back to the lab...

Hi Josh,

I've been away a few days, I'll test deeper this weekend. As I said I'm afraid this year testing is gonna be tougher then ever because single player parameters are far too many to have consistent results applicable to all players.

But I'm giving you a huge suggestion: please test on playoff games. There's always been some kind of difference, but this year is huge. I'm going to create a testing franchise, drive it to the playoff and test a little bit with different teams in different scenarios (down big, up big, etc. etc.)

Re: JoshC1977's Madden 19 Sliders (for CFM Only)

I had a productive session last night after my last post and was able to establish my main menu slider approach (those who know me will not be shocked where I wound up). I'm honing-in on the CFM settings and feel comfortable about where I stand right now with injury/fatigue. I'll need to look a bit at threshold for cleanup.

I WILL be checking out the trait-adjusted roster iMac posted; I agree with the fundamental principles (just happy someone on a PS4 did the legwork, lol). However, I'm not going to touch it until we have a base that looks solid with default rosters - global trait edited rosters will still require some franchise "maintenance" and not everyone is interested in doing that (I'm not sure that I am to be honest).
