Running game is abysmal for both sides for me. No one can make it to the line of scrimmage.

Just have to turn your run block and the CPU block way up. Then when you gets used to running you can turn it back down. I'm averaging over 4 yards per carry in my CFM. There is a learning curve with the run game. Just practice.

As far as the CPU run game I'm not sure. Most are seeing the CPU run realistic. Just make sure you have all the settings as I do including penalties. Also I test and play games in CFM so if it's play now it might be different

Re: Charter04's Madden NFL 19 All Madden Sliders

Well there is a solution for the instant block shed by the defense which is causing the DL to get pass the O-line within seconds to kill the run game. It's a lower threshold. I've been testing this the past few days at 0 threshold and surprisingly, put it at 0, the interaction between the DL/OL is amazing again. It seems on default threshold, the DL is ten times faster than the OL. I noticed with a lower threshold as well, the interaction between the receivers and DB's is better too. It seems threshold doesn't only control the speed difference between a fast guy and a slower guy, but also to keep everything in sync and not all goofy. I am thinking keep threshold between 0-20 maybe 20, you might be able to keep this smooth interaction. But once you lower threshold, you have to adjust sliders around that. I noticed with 0 threshold, move tackling to 40, run block I say around 55-65 range. 50-60 range for user and wider ranger for cpu, you can get a pretty good run game. My concern with lower threshold, you'll have to adjust the pass coverage significantly because the lower threshold, but I may be wrong.

This is just some observations and testing I've done the last few days. I thought should let you know Charter or anyone who is trying find a solution for the god awful instant shed from defense.

Finally, you could just leave threshold alone and just start cranking run block for CPU since they have the most issues since user we are smarter than the AI when comes to hitting the holes and using the correct jukes and stuff. Just comes down to what you are willing to do to fix it and how. (:

I only have the players shed like that when I hit turbo to fast or if it's a big mismatch or if they call a heavy blitz defense that just overwhelms my line. When turbo it hit to fast my linemen try and get to the second level to fast. So if the 0 threshold helps some that's fine. I'm just not having the issues that some are. So I'll be sticking with 50 threshold for now.

As far as the CPU goes as you said turning up run block has solved it. When I had it on 80 some even said it was too high because CPU running backs averaged like 10 yards per carry. So anywhere from 60 to 80 gives the CPU plenty of a run game depending on players skill.

This is the biggest learning curve for running in a long time. I got to play the beta and that combined with ea access and HOF release has admittedly given me a change to practice more and learn it more quickly than others.

Great feedback though. I'm always willing to turn over every stone. I personally just really don't like veering too from 50 threshold

Re: Charter04's Madden NFL 19 All Madden Sliders

Can’t wait to jump into CFM once you’ve finished fine tuning the sliders. Just hoping EA dosen’t go and drop a patch right after your slider set is finished. Hoping we get some time to really play before they mess up people’s slider sets and it’s back to more testing.

Sort of adding on to what Charter04 said at the top of this thread page, I would definitely recommend everyone do their testing in CFM. It’s been a strange thing in Madden for a while where the game seems to play differently in Play Now and CFM for some reason. Unless something has changed it should still be the same.

I get you! I think it's just more a learning curve than anything honestly.0 threshold does help, but I am sure if I spent A LOT of time looking into it and testing every single aspect, there will be something. I think it's much easier just raising the run block to you get use to it and slowly start lowering it until a comfortable fit for you and CPU. It's just an idea for some who are interested. It was interesting to see how lowering threshold made a difference.

So how are penalties this year? Still not called at all on default? What happened when you put them all on 51?
