Side effects of defensive helpers like ballhawk, auto-strafe etc.

What are the side effects (or gameplay effects), negative or positive, of having the defensive helpers like ballhawk, autostrafe, heat seeker and switch assist turned "on"?

What I already know from JoshC, ballhawk is supposed to increase pass rush. What I don't know is, whether that's good or bad for the game(play). What do you guys think, and what about the other helpers?

Thank you.

I'm glad you brought these settings up because this thread is gonna get busy! I have a few hundred sheets of info and sum provide what.each of these enhancements exactly do. I am in the process.of.organizing things and in the.meantime.await to read the posts of others.

Hopefully someone is well versed in this subject and can answer these questions. I've been wondering the same things about these traits.

Re: Side effects of defensive helpers like ballhawk, auto-strafe etc.

In my experience it does all sorts of things based on increments, I still feel that ball hawk causes a crazy amount of interceptions. I prefer to cover without ball hawk. If i use ball hawk I see everyone getting int. Sort of like low rated linebackers making crazy int. If you use ball hawk i usually raise the cpu QB accuracy. Please state your opinions... Anyone

I like to turn on Heat Seeker because sometimes user controlled players take weird angles when pursuing the ball carrier and end up running past him.

You mean crazy interceptions by human controlled team, or by the cpu as well? Because I am throwing interceptions to the cpu left and right even without ballhawk "on".

I had to turn this back on myself, many times i would user control a LB and he would miss an easy tackle

I may have to turn it on too. I whiff easy tackles all the time, didn't realize there was a fix.
