Update #4

· 20-year sim – Sim 3

Getting close to finalizing some positions. Not going to lie this year has been frustrating. With how EA spread out the ratings (I love that BTW) it is making it very hard to get that same kind of spread with XP Sliders. Almost impossible. Some positions are okay, but the majority are just bunched in the middle like it has been every year. That was okay before because that is how the game was made to play. Not anymore however. But it’s the only way to get some top tier talent in the league. So that’s where I’m at. I feel like two to three more sims is all I’ll need to give you guys a v1.0 set. I will then work on doing at least 10 sims with same XP sliders to get some solid averages.

QB(95%)

· Base = 18 QBs >79 - 2/5/2/9 split
· Default 10-year sim = 23 QBs >79 - 4/2/4/13 split
· 20-year sim 1 - 94% = 20 QBs >79 - 0/6/6/8 split
· 20-year sim 2 - 97% = 26 QBs >79 – 3/5/8/10 split
· 20-year sim 3 - 95% = 19 QBs >79 – 2/5/3/9 split

Looks good here. Only 19 players >79 and only 5 guys in tier 5. Got a great split up top too. I think this might be the spot. Keeping at 95%.

HB(120%)

· Base = 38 HBs >79 – 1/7/11/19 split
· Default 10-year sim = 16 HBs >79 – 0/2/6/8 split
· 20-year sim 1 - 106% = 12 HBs >79 – 0/4/3/5 split
· 20-year sim 2 - 120% = 23 HBs >79 – 3/5/5/10 split
· 20-year sim 3 - 120% = 17 HBs >79 – 2/1/6/8 split

Dropped a little here but not by much. Splits still look pretty good. Still have that top end talent. Like this spot. Keeping at 120%.

FB(115%)

· Base = 1 FBs >79 – 0/0/1/0 split
· Default 10-year sim = 2 FBs >79 – 0/0/0/2 split
· 20-year sim 1 - 115% = 5 FBs >79 – 0/0/0/5 split
· 20-year sim 2 - 115% = 4 FBs >79 – 0/0/0/4 split
· 20-year sim 3 - 115% = 2 FBs >79 – 0/0/1/1 split

Finalized at 115% (or 100% if you want closer to base roster)

WR(125%)

· Base = 56 WRs >79 – 4/8/13/31 split
· Default 10-year sim = 42 WRs >79 – 1/7/10/24 split
· 20-year sim 1 - 106% = 41 WRs >79 – 1/8/10/22 split
· 20-year sim 2 - 120% = 47 WRs >79 – 0/10/11/26 split
· 20-year sim 3 - 125% = 57 WRs >79 – 1/11/18/27 split

We are just about spot on with the base roster. 56 players >79 compared to 57 players here. Splits aren’t quite where I want them to be with only one guy >94 but I really don’t want to raise this anymore. I feel like we would overload player >79. 5th and 6th tiers still look good. Keeping at 125%.

TE(135%)

· Base = 26 TEs >79 – 1/3/10/12 split
· Default 10-year sim = 14 TEs >79 – 0/2/6/6 split
· 20-year sim 1 - 110% = 14 TEs >79 – 0/0/2/12 split
· 20-year sim 2 - 125% = 19 TEs >79 – 1/1/8/9 split
· 20-year sim 3 - 135% = 19 TEs >79 – 2/3/4/10 split

Same total players >79 but splits are much better. I think we still have a bit of room to improve this one. There were 37 players in the 5th tier. Bumping up just a bit could hopefully push some of those guys to the next level. 140% next sim.

OT(145%)

· Base = 25 OTs >79 – 1/3/10/12 split
· Default 10-year sim = 32 OTs >79 – 0/0/11/21 split
· 20-year sim 1 - 150% = 48 OTs >79 – 0/7/14/27 split
· 20-year sim 2 - 140% = 43 OTs >79 – 1/2/10/30 split
· 20-year sim 3 - 145% = 40 OTs >79 – 0/3/10/27 split

Not much to say here. Didn’t change much from last sim. I think this is the spot. It’s the best balance we can get with what we must work with. Keeping at 145%.

OG(135%)

· Base = 20 OGs >79 – 1/2/7/10 split
· Default 10-year sim = 19 OGs >79 – 0/0/4/15 split
· 20-year sim 1 - 140% = 42 OGs >79 – 0/4/12/26 split
· 20-year sim 2 - 135% = 35 OGs >79 – 1/3/9/22 split
· 20-year sim 3 - 135% = 37 OGs >79 – 1/2/5/29 split

Same as OT. Think this is the spot. Can’t really see us improving either way up or down. Best balance we are going to get. Keeping at 135%.

C(165%)

· Base = 13 Cs >79 – 0/3/4/6 split
· Default 10-year sim = 9 Cs >79 – 0/0/0/9 split
· 20-year sim 1 - 170% = 14 Cs >79 – 1/1/5/7 split
· 20-year sim 2 - 160% = 15 Cs >79 – 0/0/6/9 split
· 20-year sim 3 - 165% = 19 Cs >79 – 0/2/3/14 split

We got a little better split but no elites. Still this may be the best option we have. I didn’t like 170% because, while we got a better split, it was too powerful. Think this is it. Keeping at 165%.

DE(135%)

· Base = 39 DEs >79 – 2/3/18/16 split
· Default 10-year sim = 26 DEs >79 – 0/3/12/11 split
· 20-year sim 1 - 110% = 16 DEs >79 – 0/2/6/8 split
· 20-year sim 2 - 125% = 28 DEs >79 – 2/5/2/19 split
· 20-year sim 3 - 135% = 33 DEs >79 – 1/6/6/20 split

Looking good. I still think we have room to up this some. Base roster had 39 players >79 and compared to 33 players >79. Splits look pretty good. The 5th and 6th tier still look good as well. We have some wiggle room still. 140% for next sim.

DT(115%)

· Base = 19 DTs >79 – 1/4/5/9 split
· Default 10-year sim = 18 DTs >79 – 0/2/6/10 split
· 20-year sim 1 - 106% = 21 DTs >79 – 0/3/7/11 split
· 20-year sim 2 - 110% = 15 DTs >79 – 0/1/2/12 split
· 20-year sim 3 - 115% = 19 DTs >79 – 0/2/9/8 split

Getting closer to what I’m looking for. Need to balance out the splits some still. We will bump this up again. 120% next sim.

OLB(97%)

· Base = 25 OLBs >79 – 2/1/4/18 split
· Default 10-year sim = 25 OLBs >79 – 1/5/8/11 split
· 20-year sim 1 - 94% = 34 OLBs >79 – 0/4/12/18 split
· 20-year sim 2 - 100% = 32 OLBs >79 – 1/7/9/15 split
· 20-year sim 3 - 97% = 31 OLBs >79 – 0/6/11/14 split

This is almost like the OL positions. I want to raise it some more to get a few elites, but it will clutter the other tiers. I think 100% is where we find our best balance. 100% for next sim.

MLB(95%)

· Base = 16 MLBs >79 – 2/2/3/9 split
· Default 10-year sim = 22 MLBs >79 – 2/3/4/13 split
· 20-year sim 1 - 94% = 20 MLBs >79 – 1/4/4/11 split
· 20-year sim 2 - 93% = 19 MLBs >79 – 0/2/6/11 split
· 20-year sim 3 - 95% = 25 MLBs >79 – 0/6/4/15 split

25 players >79 compared to 19 players >79 last sim. I’m hoping this was just a outlier sim. I did only raise it 2%. Wish the splits were more balanced. Keeping at 95%.

CB(95%)

· Base = 45 CBs >79 – 1/5/15/24 split
· Default 10-year sim = 60 CBs >79 – 1/13/14/32 split
· 20-year sim 1 - 92% = 41 CBs >79 – 2/3/11/25 split
· 20-year sim 2 - 95% = 42 CBs >79 – 1/7/9/25 split
· 20-year sim 3 - 95% = 55 CBs >79 – 3/6/18/28 split

Wow this jumped a lot. Must have been some good CB classes. Way less 5th tier players this time meaning they jumped into the top 4 tiers. Therefore, when I get my set done, I need to do many sims with the same XP Sliders to get good averages. Still keeping this at 95%. I think it is the right spot. Keeping at 95%.

FS(107%)

· Base = 16 FSs >79 – 1/1/5/9 split
· Default 10-year sim = 18 FSs >79 – 0/2/3/13 split
· 20-year sim 1 - 106% = 21 FSs >79 – 0/4/6/11 split
· 20-year sim 2 - 110% = 25 FSs >79 – 1/5/4/15 split
· 20-year sim 3 - 107% = 16 FSs >79 – 1/3/4/8 split

I was able to soften it just a bit and I like it. Keeping at 107%.

SS(105%)

· Base = 20 SSs >79 – 0/3/6/11 split
· Default 10-year sim = 18 SSs >79 – 0/0/5/13 split
· 20-year sim 1 - 110% = 25 SSs >79 – 1/4/8/12 split
· 20-year sim 2 - 105% = 20 SSs >79 – 1/2/7/10 split
· 20-year sim 3 - 105% = 23 SSs >79 – 0/1/9/13 split

Still pretty good. Just need more sims to get better averages for this. Keeping at 105%.

K/P

Sticking with 100%. Not going to pay too much attention to it for the time being. Will look back at it later if needed.

Re: TDawg's Madden 20 XP Sliders

To me, doing some training better than bronze, is the equivalent of how a well run organization does a better job of player development. Which I would expect of my organization.

So for those who don't want to just sim bronze every time, that's one way to justify it. 😁

Appreciate all your hard work every year btw Tdawg.

Still pretty good. Just need more sims to get better averages for this. Keeping at 105%.

Sticking with 100%. Not going to pay too much attention to it for the time being. Will look back at it later if needed.

If we can't get the balance we are hoping for using default rosters/DC's do you think editing the draft classes can curb the compression? Perhaps editing the classes lower will yield the results we would like to see? Particularly rating later ranked linemen a little weaker?

This is definitely an option and one I have been considering. The problem is trying to determine the kind of spread that would have the desired affect. Determining those factors wouldn't be to hard, just a little time consuming. I am fairly certain I can accomplish this. The hard part is the draft classes. I'm on PC and Xbox One. I can make the change on PC very easily once I figure out what needs to be done. However, for Xbox One and PS4, it would have to be done the old fashioned way. Very time consuming. But something I'm am thinking about for sure.

Long time follower, first time poster, just wanted to say thanks for all the work year after year TDawg. I used to make it years into franchises, and the rosters would be terrible, so now I don't get invested in a franchise until you've done your thing. I see the difference as early as year 2025.

Great work TDawg, you make franchise mode so much better. EA needs to hire you, you do more for franchise mode than some of the developers do.
