Home teams were 9-7 on this test run. With the patch 1.18 i did a week or so ago, it was an 8-8 split. Not sure what the real number is for this. Guess I’d have to go to a gambling website, but first, i’ll Dig around on profootballreference. Love that site, but it’s so massive, it can be a bit hard navigating your way around the site. That’s why i always post the links from there because they’re not easy to find.

A while back, I was writing a fictional story about football gambling, and I dove into some betting forums for research and discovered that the home team gets overbetted on. Seems like it said it was about an even chance for the home/away team to win in nfl. It’s been a few months since I read the article, it was before football season.

Says the home team wins 55-60% of the time.

9-7 is 56.25%.

So this patch, the week one test improved on this into the real realm. It was slightly below it with the 1.18 tests when it split 8-8.

Just streamed a video where I went through all the individual stats and team stats and scores. At the end, i showed some of ratings for the top tier player and how well they’re tiered with tdawgs wonderful XP sliders.

Updated Tgs sliders for guys who don’t have the disc and are forced to have to play while being connected online. He used these in year year with the pre-season rosters.

PRESEASON ROSTER SLIDERS BY TGTHEPUNISHER

1. On setup do expert level and SIM. When in CFM change to Pro skill level. All madden at setup helps playcalling AI and pro in cfm drives better animations and the ratings matter more. Best of both worlds. In the past, all pro has gave me scripted outcomes.

2. Just leave main menu default

Skill pro —-remember this changes from initial setting

Game style simulation
League type; coaches and owner
Instant starter OFF
Deadline ON
Trade Type enable all
Coach firing ON—->this doesnt mess with gameplay like past iterations
Salary cap on
Superstar abilities OFF
Injury ON
Pre existing injury Off
Squad steal on
Career clock ON——>when this is off offense struggles.
Progression user choice
On-field control-ON
Quarter length 10 minutes
Accelerated clock ON———>check the notes
Runoff time: OFF——->check the notes

Go to the second accelerated clock option, runoff time and turn it to OFF. Yes this is the one that has numbers, but if you flip all the way through, you’ll see OFF. Turn it OFF.



Main Menu
10 minute quarters
set accelerated clock to 25 seconds
then Turn Accelerated Clock OFF.

Ball hawk and the other stuff turn it off. turn off all visual aids as well and set camera to broadcast.

audio levels-i had these different. only thing that was different from the two profiles and the game was playing goofy. animations and stats were amazing, the results were just skewed. since i set everything even, man this is awesome.

in main menu, change skill level from all-madden to pro. all madden at setup makes the cpu play smarter and pro in main menu helps drive more animations.

Anyone else having trouble with QBs not even trying to go downfield and having really high completion% post-patch? Feels like almost all of the throws are drags/flats/checkdowns

I think a lot of the anomalies you’ll see with these sliders are caused by the game planning feature. I see seek Elliot get shutdown some games and it seems like the AI elected to shutdown down Elliot in those games. I think stuff like this does have an effect on the the playcalling and strategy and sometimes you’ll see stuff like you mentioned. Not sure if sliders can do anything about it.

I May try some tests with high qb acc, last year that really helped with playcalling. It would also help some of the qbs to get rid of the ball quicker. Certain schemes cause the qbs to hold onto the ball too long. Almost like qb statue glitch but not as bad. I think the schemes that require strong arm qbs are causing this. Haven’t researched it that much. The holding onto the ball thing wasnt a deal until the last couple of patches.

Just clarify how many games you're gauging your judgement on. I've been guilty of pre judging myself, I have to remind myself to get a true picture of what's going on, look at a fairly large sample size.

My feeling is this game runs in streaks. For example, you might get a bunch of games consecutively with high pass % or high scoring and you can be tricked into thinking that's the current default setting and start playing with sliders to counter it. But it's likely just a streak. I had a few games together with high percentage on completed passes myself recently but with the same sliders I'm watching a game with about 55-60% completion for both QB's. I've had streaks of massive run yards in a few games and started looking at adjusting sliders, but the last few the averages are down to 2.5-3 yards per run on average.

Not to say you're wrong, just be sure you have a large batch of evidence to judge on. Say, 10 games at least.

Qbs are playing amazing now. Great awareness out there. Not holding the ball too long. Didn’t make any slider changes. I just connect online and downloaded some classic roster stuff. But on the 20th i think steve here on os posted that ea was fixing online cfms, fifth year options and new equipment were patched into online. I didn’t see a patch happen, but the game’s different now.

Since patch 1.19 hit, i havent been online with console. Yesterday was the first time. Played 20 games or so and the qb awareness was lacking a bit. But now, they look very human out there.

Can’t really explain it. Just glad its fixed. Lol.

They’re really moving around in the pocket now and not holding onto to long. They even throw the ball away more.
