How’s your Franchise going? - Madden 23 Edition

Finished the 2023 season with a 9-8 record. Just missed the playoffs with being ranked 8th in the NFC. We didn’t make any moves in free agency. Up next is the draft then the preseason!

Missed the playoffs in year 1 somehow after going 10-7. The Browns had the tiebreaker.
I let Bates, Apple and Flowers walk and didn’t lose much beyond that.
Resigned Hurst and signed Irv Smith and some depth guys in FA
The big. Franchise altering move was made though….pick #20, next years 1st and a 3rd this year for a top 2 pick to draft Will Anderson. The roster is pretty much set so adding an elite pass rusher is worth what it took. He will slide in next to Wilson, Pratt and Davis Gather at linebacker and also rush from the edge on 3rd downs pushing Hubbard or Hendrickson inside then.
Secondary will be younger but faster.
Offense should be top notch

Anyone noticing crazy high scoring, wide open games that just started today?

I had a great first season and after playing my first 2023 game, the CPU is passing for tons of yardage and scoring a ton of points.

I have a few other friends with CFM's noticing the same thing.

Do they just push tuners randomly?

My second game was better, 19-0 L vs the Ravens where I was horrible on offense but defensively it was much better.

Do you guys enjoy playing with your favorite team or rebuilding a franchise? Torn between rolling with my Steelers who are only a couple pieces away madden wise or a young team like Carolina.

After starting at Week 10 of the 2022 season, my Bears finished 4-13 and earned the No. 2 pick. Because of my belief in Fields (who’s a monster using the Ravens playbook), I traded the pick and a couple 3’s to Tampa - which didn’t re-sign Brady - for their 1st and Chris Godwin. I used that pick on LT Peter Skoronski, who was part of a remade o-line.

(Tampa didn’t take a QB. Hahahaha.)

In 2023, I went 14-3 with Fields setting all kinds of rushing records for a QB. But I lost the last game of the season for home field, and was dumped out by the 9-8 Rams in the wild card round.

To take advantage of Fields’ last year under a rookie contract and Godwin’s last year before FA, I loaded up on one-year rentals mostly on defense. My 2024 season begins soon.

FYI, I’m a Play the Moments guy. It’s a good mix between seeing how your team was built and user input on games.

To answer the above question, I’m a Bears fan and they need major work. It’s the best of both worlds.
