    HDR10 and gameplay

So i have a VIZIO OLED- great tv, it has hdmi 2.1.etc and has hdr10. I normally have this on when gaming and never had a problem, but i noticed my games were WAY to dark and kinda had a light gray filter to them....I went into my xbox and turned off HDR10- and that seems to have fixed it. Anyone else noticed this with Madden and HDR10? I mean, i do like the dark and stuff HDR 10 has- but just the colors dont pop right on Madden. I have it turned off now and some adjustment seem to have gotten where i want it

It's definitely the game. I have a Vizio P55 F1 with Dolby Vision enabled. I have it calibrated and every other game, exception being MLB The Show 1pm games, the brightness is on point. The games look great. With Madden, it's the 1pm games that tend to be real dark. It was the same way in the Beta. I'm not sure what the issue is; but I refuse to change anything on my tv just to correct it for Madden. Too much work to get it where it is now lol.

I had issues with the Beta but not the retail copy. Lighting is fine.

I’ve played XSX and PS5 versions on my Samsung with HDR10 HDTV and seen no issues

The games are so dark on my LG C10 and I mean every game. This is my only issue.

You guys realize the darker areas in HDR should be darker...it may just be you're not used to HDR in the game.

Yeah I’ve turned my hdr10 off as well. I hurts my eyes and doesn’t look natural at all.

With it off it looks more like a video game but I can see things much better.

I don’t think it’s that simple ODogg. I had this issue with M22 on a new Sony TV (PS5). I also had to resort to turning off HDR bc the 1pm games were simply too dark. I haven’t tested M23 w/ HDR but I assume the issue is still there.

I agree. I was an early adopter of HDR. Been using it for a few years now and Madden is the only game I've had to turn it off.

ODogg I really thinks it’s the game. No other game has this issue. Normally I would probably agree with you but something is off at least on my tv.

I have that same TV and had lighting issues during the Madden 23 beta but this retail version is way better.

No lighting complaints from me for the first time in years…
