Madden NFL 23: The Little Things

The amount of detail that went into recreating the 1970's-era Oakland Coliseum for the John Madden Legacy Game is amazing. Things like the lack of suites, color of the dugouts, and seating configurations are all recreated meticulously. Really, apart from some advertising displays near the light towers that were never there, it's pretty much a perfect recreation.

It's a shame we can't use this version of the Coliseum in other modes, though.

Not since like Madden 08 in the PS2 era when they had the mini camp stuff. They'd be in full gameday uniform in practice up to Madden 22

Was playing my Cowboys vs Bucs. I score late in the game to take a lead, but into the Bucs ensuing drive the cutscenes kept focusing on Brady as if to say, "you know you left too much time on the clock for the goat". Of course he drove down and got the winning score.

Got a turnover with the Steelers on defense and the stadium speakers played “Give It Away” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, just as they do at their home games!

Gave up a TD off a fumble return, not the cool part. Eagles vs Titans. They are up by two before the extra point with 2 min left. Line up for extra point and I take my break, just let the cpu handle that play. My CB comes around and dives to block the extra point and we scoop it up taking it back all the way for two points. Tie game! Awesome

Probably happened in previous versions but I have taken a two year break.

Another one, craziest play I have seen in a game. Playing against the Browns, Njoku catches a ball down the sideline and gets shoulder shucked by my CB who is much smaller. Njoku tight ropes after the hit to get a couple more yards and all players slow down as it appears he is going to step out. My dbs are slowing jogging toward the play pointing at the play. No whistle, Njoku hits the gas before coming to a stop and everyone picks up again as if they thought the play was over, it wasn’t! They chase him as he takes it to the house. My cpu players and Njoku Al reacted as if he was out while tight roping. TD Browns, was crazy!

But man these details should be marketed by EA! I’ve read more post on this forum that make me want to buy the game than any of EAs marketing! It feels like there’s been a big jump in atmosphere from what I have read. Tom Brady doing his signature “Let’s Goooo”?!?? More crowd interaction and knowing what’s happening, That’s amazing!

Can’t wait to get a PS5 to experience this.
