Clarifying how to use the passing accuracy meter.

I'm only posting this after scouring YouTube and finding that nobody is teaching a few critical points behind the accuracy meter that appears when using the Placement & Accuracy setting:

    1. Lob and Touch passes cannot be impacted by the passing meter, ONLY BULLET PASSES can receive "good timing" or "great timing". Lobs and touch passes are subject to ratings and dice rolls.

To prove this, go into practice mode, offense only. Throw 10 lob passes, they will never report "good timing" or "great timing".

    2. You will know if you got the bullet pass timed correctly if you see "Good Timing" or "Great timing" at the top of the feedback text.
Good Timing = you landed in the blue portion of the meter

Great Timing = you landed on the line (towards the end, but not at the very end of the meter). This throw will go exactly where you pointed it.

If you only see "Perfect accuracy" "Good accuracy" or "Poor accuracy", then you didn't land in the timing window and the throw outcome was purely a ratings dice roll.

The good news is that a poorly timed throw in the meter cannot negatively impact the throw, but a well timed throw can provide good or perfect accuracy.

    Hope this helps.

Now if only I could figure out how to throw the touch pass. I only get lobs or bullets, even when I do the press and release

Does the use of L2 only impact how far you can move the reticle (I.e. giving you the ability to move the target outside of the catchable zone)?

Touch is supposed to be when you fill the meter a bit but don't hit the
        Blue window

So I'm trying to figure out the benefit of using the first option over the second option. If i understand it correctly it seems like lobs and touch as essentially the same on the 2 meters and accuracy only matters on bullet passes and there is only an benefit from hitting blue no real downside but adding the dice roll if you hold it too long

I feel the same way, I see no advantage to only using "placement" instead of "placement and accuracy". I suppose there are a folks who wouldn't want to learn a new system, or maybe only want ratings/dice roll to impact throws. I didn't use "placement and accuracy" in the beta, but I am really liking it.

One thing another OSer pointed out:

"If you use the Placement And Accuracy passing controls, there is a blue area on the passing meter which guarantees an accurate pass if you hit it, regardless of your QB’s accuracy ratings. The size of the blue area is determined by player ratings, pass pressure, standing still in the pocket vs scrambling, etc. Additionally, any Deadeye ability (each which guarantees an accurate pass) is visualized on the meter by turning the entire meter blue in the appropriate context."
