There is a momentum bar in PS5 / XSX Madden 23. It begins slightly in favor of the home team, activating their "home field advantage" perk (ex. in Denver, at the game start, away team players will have less stamina during plays). As the momentum bar changes in response to results of plays on the field, different modifiers turn on and off, triggered by different thresholds on the bar.

I don't want to turn it off but we need a slider or settings to allow min/med/max or something. It's way too overpowered right now.
yes, that would be fine too. just some way to have some control of it. when the other team has it full and the screen is shaking, I try and focus on running the ball more and being super careful with any throw until I can knock that down!
Currently playing:
MLB THE SHOW 26
TLOZ: Tears of the Kingdom
Pokemon LeafGreen
Teams: New York Mets New York Jets Philadelphia Flyers
When screen-shake is active just use the all-22 cam. Might feel like cheese (no other reason why guys wouldn’t already be doing this) but that’s what I do and it’s not a big deal. In fact switching around between the different cam angles is something I do all game long anyway.
None of the effects from momentum feel OP to me. They only require you to be aware of them and adjust your approach and playcalling accordingly, and the dynamics they offer are the very things we were asking for 20 years ago when these game were utterly stagnant, especially for the NCAA titles.
Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.
I could be wrong (actually probably) but aren't the home field advantage and momentum meter two different things?
I thought the HOF was home team specific wonky stuff that happened the visiting team no matter what the momentum meter was at. And when the mementum meter gets too large all hell breaks loose and is not limited to just a single problem such as not seeing kicking meters.
So what are the main things you guys are seeing when the momentum goes in the favor of the CPU team? Here are the big ones for me. Of course, these are following what is normally a really balanced feeling game until the momentum meter gets cranked.
The CPU run defense becomes like the 85 Bears. Suddenly they close up every run lane on every play and seem to be flying around the field getting at my running backs 2-3 yds deep. Almost every time. Also I cannot seem to break a single tackle.
The CPU coverage becomes amazing. I usually see several interceptions by the CPU team of course but it also seems as if all the dbs and lbs are fast by about 20% and can outrun my receivers on their assigned routes and essentially have ESP. Wide open receivers have dbs turn into cheetahs and make up 10 yds in half a second to break up passes....if they don;t intercept.
On CPU offense the QB seems to go into RoboQB mode and to add to that my defenders seem to suddenly be 20% slower so everyone is getting open on every play. It literally feels like a different game.
In all fairness, when I get the momentum in my favor....things get a little too easy and I benefit from the same things which greatly imbalances the game in my favor too.
What do you guys think? This needs to be cooled down more....kinda how the Xfactors subside if certain criteria are met. After a few minutes the massive momentum boost from and int needs to be a non factor. So that we could "ride the wave" and survive. They're gonna get a boost but if we hold our ground it will wear off.

This is exactly how I see it as well. EA needs to fix it.
The random secondary and third effects are annoying, especially against the computer. There are some such as scrambled play art, or random play art that should be user vs user only in my opinion.
