Training games can lead to development trait increase in franchise
I didn’t know this was possible, and thought it was a pretty cool feature. I have been running trench battle with a young “star” defensive end I got in the first round. Around week 10 not only did I get the 750 points for securing gold in the drill, I was also awarded a superstar development trait. I thought this was really cool that they added this possibility. Does anyone know what triggers this? Is it completely random? I run several rebuild franchises throughout the year but this is the first time I’ve seen it happen this year. I have gotten several golds in training with other players but have never gotten the development trait increase so it seems to be rare, which is good.Tags: None -

I’ve seen this too and much earlier in my franchise. I presumed it was triggered by getting gold multiple times in a row, but I haven’t managed to replicate it yet to confirm it. -

Super cool thing. From my experience and Bengal's rebuild vids it looks like they're randomly triggered and pretty rare. Training Camp is such a great addition.Comment

Re: Training games can lead to development trait increase in franchise
I think they mentioned in the franchise blog that it doesn't show up in the XP breakdown in the player card. I think Deuce mentioned it in a post on here discussing franchise additions.Originally posted by Mike LoweI haven't allowed myself to even use these as the CPU teams seemingly never do.
From the franchise discussion thread directly from Deuce.
Yes, the CPU will sim. It doesn't show up on the progression history currently but it's set up in a way that the Gold, Silver, and Bronze are all weighted with Silver being the most common and gold being the least and then based on what's rolled, they'll get those rewards.

Re: Training games can lead to development trait increase in franchise
I can confirm you do in fact get it. It just doesn’t show up in the practice report. Look at one of the players you are doing focus training with. Notate how many points he has before training. Go into game planning and complete as normal. Now go in to the players card afterwards and subtract the amount of XP you got from practice and you will see that you have the points from focus training accounted for.
I have checked it and confirmed it countsComment

It is random but there is some context to it. You have to get Gold to have a chance at the DEV upgrade and if you get Gold you have a 1% chance of getting the upgrade as well. It was an easter egg that I intentionally didn't disclose it in the Gridiron Notes so that it would be a surprise. Glad you guys found it!Comment

Nice add deuce. When I saw it I was like “wait, what”?!?!It is random but there is some context to it. And you’re right it’s a very low chance of it happening so it doesn’t feel gimmicky at all. In hundreds of training sessions since I got the game I still have only had it happen once.Comment

Re: Training games can lead to development trait increase in franchise
You just set your focus players, and click on start training without playing the mini games. It will sim them automatically but you won’t get the “progress report” showing points and or DEV trait increase you have a chance of getting. So be sure to check the players you are training frequently throughout the year to see if you got one.Comment

Re: Training games can lead to development trait increase in franchise
I'm a fan of this and helps the overall immersion to me. Might be X at the store of training camp or weekly training, but a little nugget to boost if you "outperform". Fun way to immerse into the process and see improvement. It is random but there is some context to it. You have to get Gold to have a chance at the DEV upgrade and if you get Gold you have a 1% chance of getting the upgrade as well. On that note, any chance we could get something similar to the weekly training for a skill point boost. Get Gold during weekly training and you have 1% chance of a skill point. Mix up the immersion slightly and help boost the player slightly without impacting dev traits. Or even +1 to catching if you did a catching or +1 to block shed, etc. A nice little variance to mix up the weekly trainings without impacting things too much overall.Comment

I feel like there is a way to increase your odds as a few users are getting it at a much more frequent rate then others. Some have even gotten 2 bumps in 1 weeks worth of mini camps. Someone spill the secret sauce!Comment
