Starting a franchise with real life roster and so many players are on IR with short term injuries and do not have the return designation.
Any way work around for this?
Generally, the workaround is to start your franchise without using pre-existing injuries.
Typically in Madden roster updates / franchise start points, any players with pre-existing injuries of any significant length either get automatically placed on Injured Reserve by the CPU roster management logic during franchise start-up or placed on IR in the roster file by EA Sports before you even start the franchise. In either case, each player is placed on IR as if they were IR'd during the preseason.
Per NFL rules, any player who is placed on IR during preseason may not come off of IR until the start of the next league year (in Madden, this is the offseason).

The issue im having is when a player's injury is over, that player still cannot play in the game. The injury report says "Uninjured" and length at 0 weeks, but the player is missing from the depth chart. Go into the game, and go to medical and the player is still listed but with injury type and length both blank, and when you select the player in game it says "The player's injury is too serious"
This is in franchise mode. I selected the other team and they had like 5 guys with the same scenario. Injury type and length is just blank on all of them... I can't be the only one this is happening to, i checked over the forums and didnt see anything.

Because the 8 week wait isn’t up yet. Wether he is still injured or not he can’t come off of IR until 8 weeks.
Ahh!!! Hopefully this gets addressed in an update, thanks for the clarification
Actually, I'm not sure how this is working out either. I started a Dolphins franchise using pre-existing injuries with the final cut roster that they released (week 1 I guess). I skipped preseason & training camp as the rosters were basically set. I am currently in week 11. After week 8 it showed all the IR players as stated above - 0 weeks left, uninjured, but on IR.
I was actually able to remove a couple (Jalen Ramsey & Robert Hunt). However, I've been unable to remove any others (example - Jeff Wilson still shows on there, as does another CB). All 4 of these players were listed as IR when I started the franchise. It's frustrating because they're stuck there AND they count against the 53 man roster. So I'm kinda stuck a few spots short.
I usually just start with pre-existing off and let the cards fall where they may as it's not meant to follow real life after you get going, but decided to give it a shot this year. I may wind up starting over with another team anyway once the draft glitch is fixed though.

They count as preseason injuries and are put on IR during that period. Players that are put on IR in the preseason must stay on IR the entire season.
That's a good point. Since the roster is built that way from the start, I guess skipping preseason wouldn't really matter. Next one I'll probably go back to no pre-existing to start, but good info to think about.
