I guess I'll be that guy... Dak drops 2 OVR while Jalen Hurts has been untouched this season despite only having 640 yards and 3 TD to 3 INT on the season for a 44.2 QBR? Cowboys bias, huh?

Dak is a 85 now since he threw his first INT of the season while other elite QBs who are playing average barely got touched smh. Dak was fine at where he was being an 87. Already was lowering his passing stats when he was winning

Problem with that theory though is the ratings guy is a Cowboys fan I believe.

CMC never had his ratings drop when he was out multiple years with injuries because Madden said they don't dock players for injuries...
Quez Watkins misses a couple games with a hamstring injury and suddenly he is a worse route runner, worse catching, and 6 worse awareness lol. I think he was overrated to begin with but if this is what they think of him than make this his day 1 rating.

Count me among the many who don't understand how Dak Prescott gets the ratings trim alone following a game where Dallas was playing without four of their five starting offensive linemen and the defense gave up 200 yards rushing, most of that outside the tackles. That said, PFF didn't like the last game for Dak either. They credited him with a sub-50 grade, which is... bad.
Just looking at counting stats through three weeks, Dak's yards-per-attempt is currently sitting at a career-low 6.3, a full half-yard below his middling 2017 season (the last full season he played before the Amari Cooper trade) and over a yard below his career YPA average of 7.6. His time-to-throw being top 5 in the league at 2.42 (good!) but his average depth of target sits at 6.2 (only Anthony Richardson is worse, and the next closest above Prescott is Joe Burrow at 7.1).
Clearly there's a severe emphasis in the passing offense on quick game throws right now; that would make sense with the offensive line being a bit shaky last week. That said, speaking to Madden player ratings, there's just no contest between the production of the Cowboys' passing offense and those quarterbacked by Tua Tagovailoa, Justin Herbert, or even what Matthew Stafford is doing with the Rams.
The combination of the new Mike McCarthy - Brian Schottenheimer offense and the depleted offensive line isn't doing Prescott any favors and isn't emphasizing shots down the field. We know Prescott can hit downfield receivers, he's done it plenty of times before, and the Cowboys receiving corps ought to be able to get vertical if it is as good as advertised. Michael Gallup actually showed up last week, which was nice to see, but so far Brandin Cooks hasn't really made any explosive impact we're used to seeing from him.
Hopefully as the offensive line recuperates the downfield passing game wakes up.
