Is it true that for the consoles, patches from Madden are delivered based on your console preferences of whether you set auto-downloading on or not? If you turn this setting off, you will be notified that a patch exists and then can choose to download or not?
Regardless of this setting, to say that patches get downloaded and installed without any notice to the user is incorrect. A user will always know when a patch change has been made, and it will either download and install immediately or not based on console settings, or when you start the game.
I just want to possibly clear up some misinformation that is posted in another thread. So, there is no way the latest patch could have been installed yesterday, or a day early, without notification to the user.
EA does not "sneak" updates into the code and install without the user knowing about it and you can track updates based on patch naming and release notes ie: 1.008 etc)
