    All Madden difficulty analysis

All Madden difficulty this year is a fun mess. On the one hand it's difficult that makes for some fun challenge but on the other the CPU is frustratingly overpowered in several different ways. Let me explain...

The AI is too smart in a really bad way. On All Madden the CPU can diagnose what you're doing each and every time. CPU qbs will audible to beat your coverage every time. Zones are especially susceptible. They will pick apart your zone coverages presnap with 100% accuracy. Whether you use shading, change alignments, or disguises, the CPU will hot route and audible to beat it. It's one of the reasons why zones seem so bad. Defense has the same issue. They can diagnose everything with 100 percent accuracy. You can make adjustments and the CPU will counter it. Disguising does not work.

The CPU can make decisions on the field in an unrealistic way. They will make decisions at the start of dice rolls rather than when the animation starts or finishes. An example is a running back that makes a cut when following blockers. They know the instant a dice roll succeeds rather than when an animation plays out or even begins to start to play out.

The CPU still gets ratings boosts. Nothing to say here. It still happens.

The adaptive AI in this year's game is too adaptive. It's like it kicks in immediately at the start of the game and stays on the entire game. There needs to be actual thresholds for CPU making adjustments. A 55 awareness rookie shouldn't be able to diagnose my defense perfectly every time.

So with the CPU AI boosts and the on field ratings boost it makes for an unfun experience at times.

This is all anecdotal from my experience though. What do you guys think?

    Re: All Madden difficulty analysis

I am enjoying my All Madden sliders, but default All Madden is not perfect.

You definitely have to nerf QB accuracy for the User and CPU or else you'll never see misfires. The game by default is tuned to where QB's are just way too accurate.

I still wish All Madden had significantly more intelligent AI in all areas from the coaching decisions to the player decisions, but they did improve it somewhat this year.

The boosts don't really bother me because I do not find them noticeable nor do I feel they make the CPU too strong. The CPU needs all the help it can get on All Madden still, imo.

For the Adaptive AI, there is a threshold actually. A player must have at least 65 awareness for it to trigger their quicker reaction.

I do agree that the CPU QB audibles can get a bit tiresome. Try and run any Cover 1 on All Madden. The CPU is going to audible out of their play call 90% of the time. They do on Competitive at least.

I also enjoyed all madden until this most recent patch and the whole fatigue issue.

Of course it wasn’t perfect but I just adapt.

I always get to a point in every Madden cycle where I just get used to the pattern of the game, and all pro sliders no matter how advantaged to the CPU can't overcome bad AI.

Running right now where just run block and interceptions are both at 25 for user and cpu. In addition fatigue at 25, for the current fatigue glitch, and injuries at 25.
