Why EA?

With College Football 25 being released only on PS5 and XBOX Series S/X, why didn't EA follow suit with Madden 25 as well? I think that would have freed up more resources to work on Madden 25...Any thoughts on this?

The last I seen, I believe there's still something like almost 50% of folks still on the PS4, not sure about the XBOX One, but bottom line is that would be a whole lotta folks cut out.

I will say however, that at some point these games need to be current gen only as well as PC, with the college game being on current gen only, I guess we'll see what EA/Tiburon is able to produce.

I mean we're what?...4 years into this current gen, and games are still being made for last gen? I'm sure some people don't see the need or have the want to upgrade as long as games are still being made for their preferred platform.

CFB doesn't have an old gen game because it's a new game and it doesn't make sense to make a brand new game for an old platform. But Madden isn't a brand new game so it can make financial sense to maintain the existing old gen version, especially when a pretty significant chunk of players are still on the old gen platforms.

Old gen's days are definitely numbered though. Even PC got moved over, and M24 was the first Madden where there were legitimately 0 things added to last gen. Even M23 added a couple things here and there but M24 was almost literally nothing. That should be a sign that there's not much left in the tank.
