Every Now and Then I am Surprised

This game surprises me every now and then, but in a good way.

I had to punt and I used the backspin. On the backspin, the ball hit one of the return men and my guy recovered. I said to myself "man... it would be really cool if the game followed the NFL rules and award me the ball" because I did not expect that to happen, especially since there was no commentary or no graphics to reflect what happened.

But lo and behold, I had possession on the next plan. I was shocked. I wasn't even going to be mad if the other team had the ball because I had no expectations that it would work the way it was supposed to

It brings to light one of the major issues with punts as of late: the backspin is ridiculous. I've had a ball bounce back 20+ yards in the air after using the backspin. In fact this is what happens like 95% of the time. When has that ever really happened? And if it's a CPU punt, it conveniently bounces back right into one of my guys for a muff.

Special teams as a whole needs a major overhaul... something other than switching the kick meter every 4 years.

Madden doesn't get a lot of recognition for little things like this, but that wasn't always the case. I want to see more Madden like this.
