VSN Arcade Podcast scheduled to interview EA's Rex Dickson and Clint Oldenberg!

The VSN Arcade Podcast team will be interviewing Madden 25 Creative Director Rex Dickson and Gameplay Designer/Former NFL player Clint Oldenberg on Thursday 10/24.

We will be talking about core gameplay, True Step, War in the Trenches along with asking them the questions the community wants to ask about the upcoming PS4 and Xbox One releases.

If you have listened to any of our many interviews with the EA devs, you know we will do our best to get all of your questions answered.

What would you like to know?

Please, please ask if Def PI works in the game and Def. Holding. We know the penalties are in the game, but are they called in the game? These penalties are not called in CG.

These defensive penalties keeps drives going.

Is there muffed snaps, snaps that go over the QB or punters head? Are their muffed handoffs?

Blocked punts or blocked XP's?

Are there signature QB animations in the game? Aaron Rodgers has a different throwing style than Romo or Kaepernick.

Thank you.

Does True Step affect every player on the field or just the ball carrier?

If it only affects the ball carrier, what ideas do you have to expand on True Step to make all player movement realistic?

Were any improvements made to WR/DB interactions on Gen 4 and if not when will WR/DB interactions be addressed?

Will there be signature throwing and running animations in Madden 25 or in the future next gen Madden's?

Does player sense affect more than just smarter players in certain situations like hurdling or tip toeing the sidelines? What improvements were made to fix legacy issues with the overall AI to make players act more like their real life counterparts?

Will new penalties like illegal hands to the face and defensive holding be on gen 4?

Just one.

Wind direction, is it correct?

I have a bottle of 1964 Dom Perignon and some confetti that I would like to make use of.

Re: VSN Arcade Podcast scheduled to interview EA's Rex Dickson and Clint Oldenberg!

This may be a bit technical, but do the new hardware platforms allow for a better overall graphical experience regarding aliasing on current gen? I am a big PC gamer and even playing old Madden PC versions the higher resolution and lack of aliasing makes a really solid graphical experience.

Comparatively, Madden 25 on Xbox 360 may have better models and lighting, but the crowds and details all shimmer terribly, especially when the camera is panning, pulling me out of the experience.

Sorry if this is not their area of expertise, but I will personally be disappointed if the next Gen Madden is an aliased mess like the current gen versions.

Also....can you ask if they have any type of progressive lighting that takes the afternoon games from day to dusk to night? Older version of NCAA had this and it was the bomb. Current gen appears as if the time of day is basically frozen or the entire game has 15 minutes worth of light changes.

Also....how about maximum passing? Has it improved? The QBs seem to always throw at the receiver and not to a target to lead the receiver creating frustration.

Thanks.

Re: VSN Arcade Podcast scheduled to interview EA's Rex Dickson and Clint Oldenberg!

1. Will you be adding authentic QB dropbacks animations for every QB in the NFL? QB dropbacks currently look very awkward in most gamers opinion.

2. Will running animations finally look a lot more human then robotic and stiff?

3.. Like someone else asked Will new penalties like illegal hands to the face and defensive holding be on gen 4? And will penalties be called more often and closer to real NFL games?

4. Will celebration cut scenes be mostly removed and replaced with real time celebration animations? Going forward will madden feature less cut scenes and have more real time events?

5. Are there NFL cheerleaders and team mascots on the sides lines in real time?

6. Will there be a Pre, Half time and post game show with commentary and highlights from your game and other games being played around the NFL?

7. In season mode will we see a score ticker giving score updates from others games being played around the NFL?

Re: VSN Arcade Podcast scheduled to interview EA's Rex Dickson and Clint Oldenberg!

I see everyone talking about player sense and the individual player AI being improved but what about the play calling and situational AI?

If the AI is down will they start to throw earlier? Will they make use of the sidelines?

Will they shut down plays that I go to often?

Will they work to take away my best options on the field?

Lastly will they do this without making it feel as though the game is cheating?
