I think it is partly. I think they just moved it to the X button and are calling the "aggressive" tackle attempt. I'm right there with you though. I wish it was completely out of the game and there was one universal tackle format and hit power rating dictated how powerful certain tackles were and how often they occurred. Screw Hit Stick 2.0. Give me Wrap Up Stick 1.0.

They don't have the "tech" for the Vikings Numbers?.......The "tech"?.....It's a dam font for crying out loud....People can do it on Madden 08 on the PC, you mean to tell me actual developers can't find a way to get a font style on jersey's? And this is coming from a guy who doesn't even care about uniforms.

Sorry guys, didn't see this thread before posting mine. Anyway, here are my impressions of the game and I must say I am very pleased with the game so far.
