I think it is random. I thought the clip I saw showing that shows u select what u would like as a first option and what u would like as a 2nd option. As in, u would probably select 1. Ball first. 2. Left side of field. Then, they randomly select who 'wins' the 'coin toss,' and BAM!! You're on the field. Lol. Such a simple thing, and this is fine. It ultimately is a random chance/choice who wins, but I feel that it will take just as long to select your 2 options as it would to actually have a simulated coin toss. Lol. I thought they did the coin toss just right last year. Quick choice, heads or tails. Quick select, kick ball, receive, etc. BAM!! You're on the field. So, for me, I won't nitpick against this. But, it begs the question, 'were there people in the madden community that were saying last year's really quick coin toss took TOO LONG??!!' Lol. So, not sure whether to blame the community or madden, but in the end, the coin toss is pretty trivial.

I was referring to the AI always selecting to receive the kick. Defensive minded teams, sometimes the home team, when wind is a factor a team may wish to defer to the second half. EA does not seem able to reproduce this ( must be very complex calculations amiright).
