I once pitched a 2-hitter against the Yanks in MLB The Show & thought i could pitch in the Major Leagues....until my friends told me to get a grip cuz its just a videogame.....

If this guy is learning something from Madden that he didn't already know from HS and College, then I'm really glad he was drafted by the Vikings.

Re: Teddy Bridgewater using Madden 25 to learn playbook

I get it. Folks are looking at Madden with imagination. Sure, if he selects a formation, he can translate it to Vikings language. When he calls a play, he can translate it. When he looks at the defense, he can translate.

OK.

But why waste his time doing this when he can look at the actual Vikings playbook, or watch Vikings tape, or ANYTHING else that would be better, more comprehensive and more efficient?

Put it like this. If a coach asks him if he studied last night, and he said, "yes, I played Madden", that coach would either:

-think he was joking
-scold him if he thought he was serious and hope he wasn't that stupid

Soften up a little. It's not that he's learning something that he missed in college, he's just implementing part of Norv's playbook into Madden. People are acting like he's just using this as an excuse to play Madden for fun. Everybody learns differently, this is just his way of doing so.

I think a lot of people are taking this the wrong way. Everyone is thinking that Teddy is stupid for using Madden to prepare for his NFL career, when you should be looking at him as smart for knowing when to use proper namedropping and product placement to prepare for his career as a pitch man.

That's all this is.

Teddy played Madden a lot to stay sharp in college too. When he couldn't be practicing or playing he was using Madden.

The game isn't perfect, but there is still a lot of real football at work in the game.

And obviously that means when he wasn't studying the playbook and film either. Some of you guys are either really stupid, just trying to hard to be funny.

poffence playbook- need more wr routes, more running plays

defensive playbook- more zone plays

madden also needs APF playbook where o linemen loop, twist, pinch ect...
