E3 is over and I felt like this would be noteworthy enough for it's own thread, not to mention my thread has gotten way off topic.

Mush rushes & contain are different things.

I'll be happy when there are actual contain (& gap) assignments built into ALL the defenses.

It seems like they just add layers on top of the crap to regulate the crap. It just seems more like they're balancing a fighting game instead of trying to build the game based around real football. IDK maybe that's just me.

I appreciate the effort though. Play design, AI, and animations/interaction need to all be in sync. Hopefully they get there.

I believe Clint said they are. I know there a bunch of new wide technique plays and there's blitz bluffs.

Considering they eliminated QB scrambles from non athletic QBs this year, I thought this was a nice addition. Like Rex said its like what Bama did to Manziel. It's real technique not gimmicky.

First couple lines are what worry me but also "should be a good thing".."tester is a tourney player" which we all know if they are testers it's a good thing if they truly do their job and find glitches in the game which many online/tourney guys do to win..again I like that but also worries me cause they aren't always looking for what "us" offline/CFM's guys are looking for..what also worries me is as stated before me, insist of fixing rushing lanes adding true rushing lanes and also allowing us to have the stunts this it could almost fix itself..which also leads me to this..if this the "year" of defensive line play why no stunts..? If not this year then will not happen..current "pre determine stunts" do not work

There is also a cover the sticks feature where you focus on preventing the offense from passing the first down marker. I believe there's also something similar for goal line stops.

Nah. In every defensive call, with maybe a few obvious passing situations against non-running QBs, there are players responsible for contain on each edge of the defense. Just like there are defenders responsible for each gap.

What Madden has is the ability to hot route contain / mush rush assignments. And now some preformatted defenses with mush rushes built in. Not how defesive calls/assignments work in the NFL.

Madden's whole defensive play calling system is so far from reality. You either have to find the coverage you want and live with the blitz/stunt that comes with it, or find a blitz/stunt combo you can live with and deal with the coverage tied to it.
