Online CFM Multiplayer Not Working (Xbox1)

Has anybody else been unable to play CFM against other human players? It stopped working for me a couple weeks ago and freezes as soon as matchmaking screen (where u choose uniform, playbook, etc) appears, and the other person is trying to connect, but freezes before they do.

I can face the CPUs in our league just fine, but facing him is an impossible task and that kinda defeats the whole "online" part of it if we have to sim our games. (its not our internet either. we can both do the normal non-cfm matchmaking)

Does anyone know a fix? I've deleted my madden profile, and cleared persistent storage because I heard those helped. They helped a month ago when I had this problem, but it has only gotten worse, and we've tried constantly for 3 weeks.
