What version of the game was the last one where you could do an online franchise with other folks AND still play the user vs user games on the same console?

I think Madden 12. They still had the barebones online franchise but when Madden 13 introduced Connected Careers Mode they removed some options.

As far as I know, this never existed in Madden; rather it only existed in NCAA Football.

I know it wasn't in Madden 10 or 11 because I looked for it and was very disappointed in the option not existing. I never played online franchise in Madden 12, however.
