Re: Interesting article regarding Madden ratings

So how much of the ratings are actually based on data, and how much are based on players lobbying for higher numbers, because there's such a culture of caring about the overall number?

Everyone jumps on Donny Moore (and rightfully so to an extent, because he puts himself out there as the guy), but I do wonder with such a promotional push, how much of the initial work he does is overruled by marketing.

So you feel pretty good about how players are rated?

Did I say that?

No, not all players are rated well, but that wasn't my point.

Bleacher Report is notorious for their erroneous reports throughout the years.

By trying to discredit BR I just assumed that you disagreed with their views and I guess I just assumed you were happy about how Madden rates players that's all.

I outlined how I thought the system was flawed and presented what I thought might work better, so I hope I've provided some constructive input.

I've criticized him before, but Donny's overall ratings are pretty solid. Now, for specific attribute ratings I'm not sure. He definitely doesn't base overall ratings off YouTube highlights.

Re: Interesting article regarding Madden ratings

I'm not really sure if anyone is noticing but in the Tennessee highlight, that is definitively a helmet-to-helmet no call. You can tell by 1. the sound of the hit itself, 2. how shaken up Spears is after the hit, I've only ever seen a tackler shaken up like that after a helmet-to-helmet collision. So for an illegal hit by a Kicker he gets a higher hit power then at least three defenders who are probably bigger then he is? If that's the case Brandon Meriweather must have the highest hit power, or DaShon Goldson. Half the time Helmet-to-Helmet is rewarded, Kickers and Punters, and half the time its a fine and a penalty, anyone else.

Ether way I'm not really sure why a Kicker/Punter would or should get a higher hit power then any other player.
