Madden 25 - Draft Classes?

Has there been any specific information on draft classes work this year?

I know they said they will be "random"... but what does that mean exactly? Are they pre-made classes like they have been, and the "random" part is that they don't go in any specific order? Or is the "random" part mean the players are randomly generated each year, and not pre-made?

Re: Madden 25 - Draft Classes?

In Madden NFL 25 on PS4 / XBOX One (last year's game), draft classes were hand-made by EA and the order in which they appeared was random on a per-CFM file basis.

In Madden NFL 15 on PS4 / XBOX One (this year's game), all players in a draft class are randomly generated. There are no more pre-made players. Your draft classes will be entirely unique to your CFM and no one else's.

This exactly.

I'm a little concerned about how well done this 100% generated draft class thing will be programmed....

The last 2 versions of Madden had pre made draft classes, names, ratings, everything was pre made and only the order was random as CM Hooe said.

But some of you might remember before the last 2 versions of Madden when names were generated randomly and assigned to pre made draft classes, while UDFA's were entirely generated. Many UDFA's had ABSURD body features (do you remember OL linemen having "boobs" due to thin waste size being generated with a wide chest size?) Also a lot of the generated names were silly, or top tier picks were generated as coming from a lower division school.

My point here is that the number/nature of anomalies in each generated class was comical. And it seemed like EA went away from auto generation because they couldn't seem to get it right. So I'm just worried now that they're going back to having them be generated.

What worries me more is in his webcast Looman mentioned the new auto generated classes and said he was "going to fine tune it" as he goes forward and that certain "stars" were "peppered in" to keep drafts with boom or bust players.

The fact that he said that to me translates as "it's not completely generated since we peppered in some star players, and we're not finished with it since we will be tuning it over time"

I'm not too excited about this auto generated stuff. I don't want my OL rookies to have boobs. (or maybe I do)

Not exactly an answer to your question, but I was worried they would all come out with terrible physical attributes again (think CBs with 65 spd).

I simmed a few weeks and did some scouting of CB's and was pleasantly surprised to see almost all A's and a few B's for spd/acc, even down in to the projected seventh round and undrafted guys!

They should have given you the ability to edit layers in the draft before it the season starts. I have a feeling we're going to get stuck with "Terry Terry" and "Jackson Jackson"

Re: Madden 25 - Draft Classes?

Cool, thanks guys. Sorry for the typo in the subject line. Obviously was asking about Madden 15, not 25.

I used to play Madden 08 on the PC a lot, and the draft classes there were auto generated. It usually worked fine, but of course you could mess with the draft class via editors if needed.

I'm interested to see how well the generated classes will work. It will definitely allow for more fun online league play, since there won't be any draft guides. I will miss the twitter and news stories about incoming rookies, though.

The rookies still have news and twitter stories, just less specific overall.

This is good to hear, thanks for the info.

I hope it works well of course... but based on history and what I said in my post above, I'm just nervous these auto generated rookie classes will be bad or will have bizarre skill or name combinations.

CFM is already going to feel less realistic with the skewed sim results we are seeing year after year, it will only be worse if rookies are generated with absurd skill sets in relation to their position or generated with absurd names.

*sigh* .... Oh well... silly names and un-realistic simmed stats are things I have come to live with since EA has this Monopoly on NFL games and it's the only one I'm allowed to buy.
