Yeah, commentary is way off this year. Maybe they'll fix it in a future update.

Commentary is REALLY bad this year. I threw a 40 yard pass (with a 10 yard run in) for a TD and Phil Simms raved about how he followed his blocks for a long TD run.

Sigh.

I really really hate both of the commentators. Jim Nantz has this annoying lilt to his voice like he's singing everything. It also really bothers me that they act like the kick return is part of the drive, it's always first and ten from the 20 and they start out by saying "After the long play it's 1stand 10." or "After the 20 yard play it's first down." I also wish there was some recognition of what quarter and play it is, they get one long run and Phill Simms goes on about how the defense needs to put rocks in their pocket at some point.

I will say that I do like how they comment on teams past games in CFM, even if it's all pretty standard it's a decent addition.

They need multiple teams, networks have how many 2 man teams now? (Different sideline reporters would be nice also, and show them on the sidelines, not just voice overs) and they don't need to be actual real life announcers either, Get voice actors, get the 2 guys from the nfl2k series, anything would be better than what it is now. The ability to add commentary via updates during the season would go a loooong way toward taking the staleness out of it as well.

In all seriousness, they need to have 1 team work out properly before they start having multiple teams

the best is when you throw deep down the middle against the cover 2, and then simms says, "this quarterback is attacking the wrong part of the field, he needs to target deep down the middle. hes attacking the outside which is the strength of this cover 2"

At least Simms isn't criticizing every play. Seemed last year, he was saying how I hit the wrong hole (After I ran an ISO) or called the wrong play or I should have done this or.....

And not wanting to throw my "crisp, refreshing, bottled beverage" through the TV screen at him.

Yeah the commentary sucks, he'll it's always sucked since Tom Hammond was the announcer for this game

My comment was more about best possible scenario after the actual commentary logic would be applied, not having multiple commentary teams being the fix of the current situation.

I think that is a problem. It's one thing to have a commentator phone it in, but it's another when the commentary does not match up with what's on the field. For me, it snaps me out of that TV coverage immersion.

I wonder if it can be turned off. I have not checked

I'm on PS4 and I have been pleasantly surprised with commentary, at least in CCM.

Also too much dead silence between plays. No banter really between the two. Can't recall any of their real broadcast but I'm sure they don't just say what's going on half way through each play. I know 2k's NBA and The Show have some banter, which still gets repetitive, but it's better then absolute silence that may be followed by commentary that doesn't even fit the play.

Especially when you do something positive on Offense only for the announcers to act like it was a negative play, makes you laugh at first but after a while just plain sloppy.
