Impossible to complete fly/ streak routes

^ this right here is the truth. Gotta step into your throw when going deep, I've played a game against the packer and I hit Calvin Johnson in stride for two deep balls. Never had to switch over or user catch them.

Like everyone is saying it's much more realistic this year. I need get the defense out of the cover-2 and have time to step into the throw while WR has a step on the DB. I lob pass and use TCP to direct the pass away from the safety.

If all of that doesn't happen I'm more likely to throw a pick then complete the pass. It frustrated me at first because in previous Madden's I could complete several bombs a game and now I may get 1-2 if I'm patient.

How is the user catching in madden this year? Cause I know in previous maddens it was very difficult

Its damn near impossible. Right now I am in week 8 season one with the cowboys and dez Bryant usually wins 10% of any jump hall thrown his way.... if that even. I have given up on streak routes because 7 of my 9 ints to this point were one on one where it looked like dez had it beat, but that cb gets there every time. Better off throwing 5 to 15 yrd routes across the middle. Use the left stick and aim your throw and let the CPU catch it.

Go to Help/Settings then Settings then Game Options....scroll all the way down to Player Min Speed Threshold and adjust the setting there to your liking. Suddenly your faster players are actually faster players....opened up the deep game where you can get past a defender but the game keeps it under control so you can't go deep a zillion times a game. I thought that was a nice touch.

What is your speed threshold at? Cause I put mine at 0 and it's still not working. Lineman are catching up to running backs and receivers

This. I have my min speed threshold at 0, on normal speed, playing All-Pro. At 25 and 35 it made no difference. With a player like Tavon Austin, I am seeing separation, whereas before there was little to none. User catching helps too, but 0 threshold helped for me, at least for the players with speed that can burn a DB. I'm also using Armor & Sword's sliders with some of my own tweaks, so you may have to take that into affect as well.

I have it at 0 as well and it's working fine for me (though it's less dramatic a difference than years past). I think pursuit is handled somewhat differently from flat-out speed difference and if your RB is still getting caught, a lot of people have found that lowering pass reaction helps with that initial pursuit even on running plays. If you haven't tried that, I'd give it a look.

On the overall topic, in terms of deep passes, if I have a step or two I feel I have a realistic chance of beating the DB (again, with threshold at 0). It's about timing the throw IMO. For jump balls, it helps to time your jump a bit early. There seems to be a slight delay in response, which could be why some people feel their receivers aren't responding.
