I guess in a small way I understand that mindset...when I was a kid and all we had was Tecmo Bowl, we used to run the same 4 plays over and over and had fun with it...the problem is, back then we only HAD 4 plays to choose from (and even THEN we used to argue with each other if someone was relying solely on Bo Jackson every time!)...now we have the ability to create 400 play playbooks.

As an aside...EA guys, if you're reading this...PLEASE give online players the ability to review their opponents tendencies in the team select screen BEFORE agreeing to play them!!!! If I can see a guy runs 38 plays a game on offense and only 12 unique plays, that is AWESOME information...unfortunately, the only way to see it is AFTER I have played them! In the Play Now match-ups, the system is working to find people within 25 skill points, then 50 and so-on...please change that to allow use to sort by play variation or tendencies and you immediately improve online play by a factor of 10!
It is possible we played the same guy, or it is spreading around like wildfire in some cheesy strategy guide they sell these days, to teach people how to screw sim players over with exploits. I heard Batum Shaka Laka mentioning using sim adjustments, but other than the ones i name above, what else is one to do?

I know they play you're talking about, every high level cheese ball runs it.

To stop it:

4-3 Under
Cover 3 sky
Base align (keeps extra corner from drifting to weak side)
Left trigger +R1 QB Contain (Mush rush, forces defensive ends to take wider path to the back field)

4-3 Under if running to the left - flip it if he flips his run, you should see your backer come to the outside hip of the tackle. You want that backer aligned like this on the side he's running to. This shuts down all power o / outside runs. This is a realistic defense to employ against them too as you're simply maintaining gap integrity.

Re: Post Tuning Running Game: Easy Peasy?

I like the strategy and against 2 wr 1 te 2rb, or 2 wr 2 te, i rb, i would run that. But I don't feel comfortable running that against a 3 wr or 4wr set. I like to run cover 1 in certain first down situations or 2nd and long sometimes, and i don't want my safety covering percy harvin or wes welker if that makes sense.

And for those that don't know what the play looks like, here it is, i posted it on youtube.

That's not even the worst one out of that formation - try the HB Power O play.

I run it against 3 WR sets no problem. Teams align in their base D against spread sets IRL too. You're baiting them into passing as they won't be able to run - your defense will never be good if you're letting your opponents presnap offense dictate your defensive play call before the ball is even hiked.

Most of these guys running out of this formation have that one run play and once you stop it they get uncomfortable and start making mistakes through the air.

Your right, now that I think about it, i remember the Seahawks running their base 4-3 against the Broncos in the super bowl. So what do you do if you want to play man coverage? Or do you just haw to sacrifice and play zone?

Also against 4 wr sets, you would come out in a nickel right? Or Still a base d?
