If you're not paying for PS+, you really are missing out. At Christmas time, you can generally find a 1yr subscription for $29.99. You get at least 1 free game a month and discounts on all kinds of other stuff. The value of the program far exceeds the price of PS+.

People will look for any reason possible to bash EA. PS+ has nothing to do with EA or Madden, its required by Sony for your to have it to play any games online, except for a few free to play titles. On PS3 PS+ more than paid for itself with the quality and selection of free games they offered for download and the discounted items it would give out every month (from games to DLC).

This is all on your end. You should have done more research on the console you spent $400 on.
