Ranked Matches Declining?
Are ranked matches falling off? I remember playing Madden 07-09 almost religiously in online Ranked Matches, there was a lot of cheese, but you could find a good challenge online.
Also I remember you could go into the Lobby, and I would challenge the highest ranked player every time, because it allowed you to level faster, and if you took an L it wouldn't be that bad in terms of your level. By doing that, you could play the best players and make yourself better.
I know a lot of people used to bum hunt in the lobbies and try to find level 1 or 2s, and their level 16 or higher, I'd always challenge the bully, easy win.
The Lobbies East, and West used to be PACKED, and you could barely get in to challenge someone without waiting. I played multiple top 5 people in the past, and would lab w/ them if they weren't cheesers. Don't get me started on only allowing unranked matches in the Lobbies good gracious, whats the point of the lobby then? The lobby is where you could really make a name for yourself. You could call out the big guys, and try to beat them and level up superfast by playing a higher average of skill levels. That was my favorite. I used to always have like an average skill level played of like 10 or 12, aw man, I miss the old days.
Online ranked matches used to be where the best Madden players would play. Now you can't even see your opponents DNF or record before you start. I'd rather play a 21-3 person than a 1-5 person. I hate beating up on players that have no idea what they're doing. Why can't I see their record anymore?! I only look for a challenge, I don't want to play softies.
Enter next gen/last 4 years of Madden. A bunch of quitters, people who don't understand non-cheese football, and so many ways to HELP bums be able to compete. The kick meter and tackle cone really ruin some of the experience for me, no longer do you have to have skill on corner coffins or tackling.
Strategy is almost gone, now the opponent can see the plays that I called on the previous play, and have all of those community averages and tips; which eliminates thinking for yourself, and finding your own plays.
Anyways, what happened to the online ranked community? Is it still there on XB360 or is this just an XB1 problem? Anyone else see this or am I crazy?
