No Fast Running Backs In Draft?
For some reason I can only find running backs with Speed ratings of around 88. Their agility and acceleration ratings are usually pretty good, but the speed ratings are always low. One time I even drafted a guy who ran the fastest 40 yard dash at the combine according to the draft stories, and he came out with a 89 rating. Is it just me, or is everyone else having this problem?Tags: None -

I agree they are atleast very very rare. Usually i convert a WR to rb... They hardly loose any stats other than awarness. I turnes a 81 ovr superstar WR into a 91 ovr RB in 1 year.. And i only simulate games so i dont Get alot of Weekly bonuses... Only thing that bother me is that he is 6'4 .. But it doesnt seem to matter really -

Although I've only done one draft, that was one issue I stumbled upon too. Along with most(if not ALL) TEs and HBs being far too underpowered to be anything close to realistic(most if not all have strength ratings in the 50's or very low 60's)...
Another problem I foresee with the new tuner-patch increasing the XP needed to improve Speed, Man Coverage, Zone Coverage and Hit Power is that it will now be all but impossible to develop an elite CB, FS, SS(<--especially), OLB or MLB(to a lesser extent), especially to get one to star stats like Richard Sherman, Joe Haden, T.J. Ward, Cam Chancellor, Aldon Smith, Luke Kuechly, etc.... Especially to develop them that far by their(^) young age.
Nerfing the progression after the release of the game is just bad form, if you ask me, and throws the game out of balance(especially considering how much slower it is to gather XP for defensive players Vs. offensive players). The game could use a quick-fix update/patch ONLY to fix what they botched with the last "fix". Lol... No seriously.Comment

Re: No Fast Running Backs In Draft?
Well, I haven't had any issue with finding fast running backs. It is random classes this year, so you won't have speed freaks in every draft (even though I seem to see running backs with 90+ speed in every draft).
@EarthboundMysfit
The players you listed are really good though. They are not some average NFL players. So of course it should be hard to just turn any drafted players into stars like that. That makes total sense.Comment

Well yeah, I have found a few 90+ as well, but what I really meant is where are the guys like Jamaal Charles with 95+ speed? I have never seen one and I do ALOT of drafts.Comment

Re: No Fast Running Backs In Draft?
I obviously know they aren't your AVGERAGE players, duh!... Why do you think I named them?.. I'm making/proving a point with them.
Take the players I named and sprinkle in a few more STUDs from those same draft classes/age range(earl thomas, patrick peterson, kalil mack, etc) and what do you get?... About two(give or take) Stars per position, per year/draft class.
Right(maybe more, maybe less, but certianly NOT zero)? Right..
Well the way it is now, with the general stats a CB, FS or SS gets coming from these draft classes, there will be 0, zip, none, nada players of that caliber in ANY of those positions in say 5, 10 years, especially none that progressed that way organically/naturally...
Same with no 95ish speed RBs = unrealistic. You can't honestly tell me no RBs will run a 4.4 40yrd dash next yr(or the next, or the next, etc.)... Someone(a few 2-5 do) does every year!
I don't know, but what you call making total sense, I call as making none.
P. S. The problem wouldn't be SOoooooo pronounced, if there weren't so few hours to put into new studs via game prep. There needs to be a fix for the above conundrum in one way(better draft studs/ratings), one way(easier way to progress secondary/LB positions) or another way(more game prep hours, total), because as I see it, reality leaves madden once you progress into season two(& I personally like playing my offline CFM for 10-15 seasons, which will only amplify the unrealistic progression/league-wide talent pool I just delved into).Comment

Re: No Fast Running Backs In Draft?
I'm about 17 years into my CFM. There are plenty of drafted studs on the LB, S and Cb positions. I don't see the problems that you are stating.
And about the speed thing. I drafted a running back with 95 speed and in the same draft Texans drafted one with 97. There could have been more in that draft, but I only checked the Texans because they drafted the guy I wanted.
In almost every draft I had, there are some really fast guys at both Rb and Wr. But its random classes, so I might see these fast guys a lot, while others might not.
Its random, so its the luck of the draw. I have not had any issues..... so farComment

Re: No Fast Running Backs In Draft?
Just like real life it depends on the draft class, I have had some with the fastest guy was a 98 speed and some where it was a 89. But overall I usually have 3-4 RB's that are in the 90-95 range. IRL having the fastest 40 time doesn't always mean you have the fastest game speed. It means you are able to run that fast in perfect conditions with no one hitting you.For some reason I can only find running backs with Speed ratings of around 88. Their agility and acceleration ratings are usually pretty good, but the speed ratings are always low. It should be next to impossible to develop the next Richard Sherman, he is a once in a lifetime player.Although I've only done one draft, that was one issue I stumbled upon too. Re: No Fast Running Backs In Draft?
I haven't seen this problem either. I've seen fast RB's but very few good power backs. I know this is just luck of the draw, so not complaining there.
My complaint would be the lack of Strength for the RB and TE position, as someone earlier mentioned. I've run quite a few drafts and have seen one RB with B Strength and absolutely ZERO TE's above a C(most are F).
I can live with it, guess I'll have to. It's still leaps and bounds better than the draft classes from M25.Comment
