Human-Controlled QB Awareness Question

So I have searched through many posts on the subject and there seems to be debate.

Has there been any final conclusive statement by any game developers or expert analysis on whether AWARENESS affects player-controlled QBs? I am left in a quandary over whether the improvement of that skill on my beloved Colin Kaepernick will yield any further advantage.

I don't really see how awareness for ANY human controlled player would come into play, but specifically for the QB, because the human is making every decision for that player,on every single play. I think you are good if you don't worry about devoting much (if any) time to the development of that skill. Just my opinion though, no facts at all to back it up.
