Contract loophole found

So i'm messing around with a new franchise yesterday. Players that have about 3-4 years left on their contract, i'll edit them. For instance Darnell Dockett.

If you change them from their original position to another position that makes them average overall like RE to LOLB (75 Overall), release them and resign them, you'll sign them for far less than what you can resign them for at their original position.

So I signed him as an LOLB 3 years at about 4 mil contract. I changed him to a DT and he changed to like a 91 overall. Still with the same contract.

I know, it's cheese, but whatever. I use him up until he's about to retire then put him as trade bait to get picks.

It saves all the headache in the offseason where you're over salary cap.

Re: Contract loophole found

kinda cheesy but hey not bad idea... my only problem would be that every time you move a players position their awarness drops semi drastically... but then its a cheap xp fix

This is before you start CCM, not during the offseason.

I don't think it drops anything if you do it before you start a CCM

Re: Contract loophole found

Speaking to this, I noticed last night that after drafting, I moved a we prospect to te and his speed dropped from 82 to 71....... Wtf..... (I drafted him cuz he's 6'6 with 87 jump, 84 CTH, and 89 spc). The worst part is when I moved him back it only rose back up to 76. Pretty much sucked.

Re: Contract loophole found

This is not anything new. FYI, you can also change your scheme to be the opposite of the free agent you want to sign and sign him for even less money since he doesn't fit your team's scheme and will have a reduced overall rating. Then once you sign him change your scheme back

Re: Contract loophole found

P.s. the whole changing a player's position, resigning them then switching them back is one of the reasons position editing is limited during a CFM season

I've vbeen doing this since Madden 05.. Whenever a team was negative cap wise Iwould take some players and do exactly what you said.
