Can trap runs be contained?

Good morning. Has anyone figured out how to ensure the CPU tames your trap plays? I'll need to play a bit more, but it seems like the majority of my trap runs give me huge gains. I'm looking for more of "grind it out" feel to my run game, I don't like very easy yardage. I'm talking two, three, maaaaybe four yards up the gut with an occasional six to eight or a break to the sideline.

My run block slider is currently set at 25, so I'll actually be lowering that here in a bit to see if that works. Only worry with that is it'll kill the outside run game.

Re: Can trap runs be contained?

With JoshC's sliders I've had games where the trap plays were less effective than "normal."

Either pinch in your defensive line.
Put a linebacker over center.

Sliders may help but sometimes when you are looking for a simulation experience, you just have to impose rules on yourself. You can run dives and slash's and inside zones. You don't always have to run trap plays. You could even just ban the use of a trap play if you need to.

Yea, this is probably what I'll be doing. I've dropped my RunBlock slider to 15 (might drop it to 10) and on top of that, I'll reduce the times the inside run can be used in a game.
