IR Designated to Return - Does it Work?

I went to the Injury Report screen when the season ended and posteseason was beginning. I clicked on him, selected the option to manually remove someone from my roster. Went to my roster(manually, the game won't take you there), found the player I wanted to remove, cut him, then went back to the Injury Report screen, selected Wolfork, hit the option to have him come back, went to the depth chart and made him start again.

Low and behold he was there at DT for the playoffs after never playing a snap in the regular season.

see...Right after I made my first reply to this post the other night, I thought maybe the problem was I didnt have an open roster spot... So I went into my Online CFM and released a player to open up a roster spot and then went back to IR, actions, and STILL! only 2 options were Manually release player or CPU release player... SMH, SOOO AGGRAVATING!!! as for the whole IR not working, It's always worked for me... Since they fixed it last year or whatever it was. On M15, Whenever I've placed a player on IR, I've been able to sign a player to fill his vacated roster spot.

Worked for me again. Full roster, so putting a player on IR opened a spot to sign another player. 13 weeks later when the player was healthy, I was able to re-activate that player, after cutting someone to make roster room.

It seems the important thing some people are missing is that you must release someone or have a vacant roster spot by other means BEFORE you attempt to re-activate the I'D player
Also he must be healthy when you do so, unlike the scenario in real life
I have to add this was very poorly explained at game release , also it continually baffles me that EA, despite having such a great and successful template ( ie the real NFL ) to copy insist on trying to find alternative ways to do things rather than build mechanics to represent reality as it truly is

Has anyone tested this in 15 Online Franchise? Want to make sure before I put a guy on it who could come back for the Super Bowl. Thanks!
