    Relocation Help

I've relocated teams a couple times and I always seem to run into the same problem. After the team relocates I never have any funds because I lose more than $2 million a week on away games due to the stadium lease. Am I setting prices wrong or is this a common problem?

The only other thing I could think of is not relocating during the first season, accumulating funds, and then try to relocate in season 2 or 3.

Also, if I move the Raiders back to LA can I keep the color scheme and team name?

    Re: Relocation Help

I did a decent amount of research into this and here is what I have found

    1. You obviously can't guarantee this, but try to go as far as possible and/or win the SB. Don't just sim and say ahh I'm moving, the heck with it. Winning the SB will dramatically increase your popularize and in turn profitability.

    2. Don't bit off more than you can chew. Build a stadium your market can support and that you can afford. In my experience the most profitable stadium is the deluxe traditional. It offers top of the line facilities in an affordable format and has plenty of seating and luxury boxes.

    3. Cater to your fans. You might think, I am the owner I can do what I want. It is fine to go down the Dan Snyder route as long as you expect Dan Snyder results. When relocating your team pay attention to the most popular team name and uniform. In regards to your raiders question, I believe you can keep the name and logo but pay attention to which ones fans want the most if you want to be profitable.

Lastly, this is a small thing but let's say you have two franchise QBs you have scouted and value equally, check their personality. Players with higher personality sell more jerseys.

At the end of the day the biggest thing for me has been winning. Adjusting prices of things can help a little, but just win baby.

Good advice in the post above. The problem is, teams that win the Super Bowl don't move because the fan interest supports them staying. Its only losing teams. The biggest problem with relocating and rebuilding is that you start out with very little funds and most people don't know how to increase them. Its ridiculous to think a new NFL owner will have, at most, $7M of free cash flow. Its ludicrous.

I realize they do not want to make it overly easy to make money and provide a challenge, but as has been the norm in this franchise, they went too far the wrong way. They rarely hit whats "realistic" and try to hard to guess what "expected" and often miss on both.

You have to declare you are moving in the preseason so what happened to me is I did a fantasy draft, did not know how good or bad my team would be but knew I wanted to relocate. So I started the relocation process in the preseason and ended up winning it all, but was already locked into moving. Winning the SB not only helped my franchise popularity (originally Jacksonville so it was terrible) but also when I moved to my new location I had about $30 Million.
