Coach demand release

When do you demand release. I can't seem to see when I can. Also how do I decline a context extension. It just extended me without asking ?

Was wondering that myself. I just got my contract extended 3 years, and didn't want it extended. There was no option to decline the offer. I've read that you can demand release during the offseason at some point but I just went through an offseason and that option still looked to be locked.

I'm wondering if you can't as coach only as a player

Not sure of the time parameters, but I think you can demand release as a coach up until the Super Bowl. I demanded my release last night during SB week. The problem is that no jobs were offered and I was prompted to retire my coach.

It's at the start of the off season, but if your team is in the playoffs you cannot demand your release until after the team is eliminated. I have found no way to not accept a contract extension.

I control all teams, and when you demand a release, and another job is opened as you retire that coach from the 2nd job, I go to try and get the coach that I demanded the release with that other job. But I no open spots are open.

Example.

I demand release as Rex Ryan, I retired Marc Trestman as the coach, when I go under Rex Ryan character it doesn't allow me to hire him as the Bears coach. Anyone know how to make this happen?

So if I win the Super Bowl - I can ask for release after game but before advance week?
