Resigning Players

One thing that I dont like is that we cant go through the roster and resign anyone we want. We can only resign the players they allow us too.

We used to be able to resign anyone

Re: Resigning Players

The way I get around this with someone if I want to extend them is release them at the start of the offseason and then reason them as a FA. Not the best way, but works if you need to.

Re: Resigning Players

In some ways I agree but I also don't see the need to re-sign someone with more than one year left on their contract anyway. I imagine it is a lot of mathematical coding that will never be perfect anyway, so why both...

You would extend the years on their contract and maybe a little more money, this would lower their cap hit in the next couple years. Teams restructure contracts all the time.

This is something that is needed back in the game. It was in the game during the PS2 days so it cant be a coding issue.

Agreed. It used to be an option, so it would be great to see it added back in 16...even if it's only on the new platforms

Actually, this is one thing they got right. Not every player WANTS to re-sign with their teams.

Completely different platform so all new coding would be needed. I don't think it happens all that often that players with multiple years left (if you have stats to prove otherwise feel free) so I doubt they feel the time investment to get it to work right would be worth it. Personally, I agree. Far more important things to tackle IMO.

Re: Resigning Players

I disagree. I think we should be able to approach everybody but not everybody should be willing to open negotiations. This is one of the few things I feel EA has correct, although it is still underdeveloped.
