Re: The Depth Chart System Needs To Be Overhauled...

There are so many fantastic ideas on this thread.

I know that EA caters mainly to the casual/arcade/tournament types (the ones we SIM players like to call CHEESERS)... and I get why they do that. They are the vast majority (so more $$$) and many are gung-ho for dropping $$ on MUT (so even more $$$).

If possible, I think they should have the Quick Play / Play Now / H2H / MUT stuff be simple and cater to those that want simple... and then have the CFM cater to us SIM players. Then everyone wins.

There should be global and individual formation subs as well as SPECIAL TEAMS depth charts and more ST plays! What if I want to use the 8-2-1 kickoff return? What if I want/don't want certain players on kick returns?

Not sure if this has been addressed in regards to the switching of positions resulting in changed attributes, but has anyone compared changes from the switch player position screen to the roster screen? I've never noticed any rating changes, not to say they're not happening, but it's obviously not bad enough for me to notice. I switch at least a third of my players, so it wouldn't go unnoticed.

My method is to always switch them from the roster screen in the offseason. It would be interesting to compare any attribute changes from the two methods.

For off line play you can. Change Harvin and Patterson's position to RB. Then you can play them at RB and still should be able to use them at WR.

We are a long time away from the little things being addressed, if ever.

I know that the feeling is that we don't expect more realistic depth charts anytime soon, but why not?

From a programming standpoint it should not be hard at all.

Perhaps it could be unfriendly to the average user, but that is a fairly easy fix.
