Madden NFL 16 Video - Draft Champions Walkthrough and Gameplay (GT Reviews)

GT Reviews has posted a new Madden NFL 16 video featuring Senior Producer, Seann Graddy, Creative Director Kolbe Launchbaugh and Creative Director Rex Dickson, as they go over the new Draft Champions mode and also show off some gameplay starting at roughly the 8:35 mark. Was discussing in the E3 thread, I think this is a very good video and a good start as far as seeing the game in action for the first time.

My thoughts from the other thread:

GAMEPLAY STARTS AROUND 9 MINUTE MARK

Deep pass aggressive catch 1 on 1 around 10:30 mark, hand fighting high body throw

Rex on downside of using aggressive catch "works against you in open space, your guy goes back to the ball to fight for it"

He tries a fade in the endzone, Tannehill sails it into the sideline

Definitely some new presentation elements as far as the stat banners popping up next to individual players

I'd like to see more negative plays/plays for loss and 3 and outs but I think he was playing on Pro (all the visual stuff was on) so probably not the best for that kind of stuff

Around 14:30 he beats the LT with his pass rusher and is picked up by the FB. Doesn't look perfect but seems improved

I wonder what Peterson would have done on that swat/INT if he hadn't been user controlled

AI uses a nice pass breakup on the curl in the endzone at around 16:45ish
AI also plays WR and strips ball at high point on the following play

Three straight passes defensed in the endzone in that sequence, all by AI controlled players

DB was actually looking for a flag at the end there around 21:00

Hurry up animation is a lot smoother

I saw almost as many inaccurate passes in this little clip than I saw in probably 3 whole games worth of plays in M15. Still only 3-4, but its a short game played on a lower difficulty, so reason to be excited.

The WR/DB interactions are CLEARLY there on every play.

Man, maybe I am overreacting, but I feel like there are a lot of things to like in that video. I am watching it over again now. Nice being able to watch it on HD.

Not saying it is perfect. Just saying improvements are clearly there and that is great considering he was playing on a default everything, probably on Pro.

I am starting to get a little hyped, legit.

What I really, really need is a video of this quality with a no-switch user playing or cpu vs cpu

I think he played on low difficulty on purpose to showcase the new animations. He did have almost 100% accuracy on the downfield throws when it was 1 on 1 but even on Pro (or whatever it was at) the AI did defense a number of passes in the endzone. He also mentioned that he had a significant ratings advantage in those matchups.

I definitely would love to see more videos with this quality, and played on higher difficulties and with no switching/cpu vs cpu gameplay

Keep in mind this is on Pro difficulty with really high rated receivers.

Hopefully it's not that easy to complete long passes in normal conditions on a higher difficulty.

Shopmaster said today that he was afraid high point catches would be OP but based on his time with the game today that they weren't OP at all. I will say ratings really matter when it comes to this, as kaletore pointed out, this was a higher ranked WR against a 70 OVR.
