Which console to buy for Madden?

Can you elaborate? Is this online or offline?

When I moved from PS3 to the X360, I noticed a significant improvement in the smoothness of online games, and I'm curious if a similar distinction exists in this generation. Most of my play is online, but smooth offline is important as well.

Part of the reason I've waited to buy a console is so I can buy one used. I'll pick up a used console, swap in my own HDD, and buy the Madden 16 Deluxe (to kickstart my MUT addiction).

its like this, if you plan on streaming, sharing gameplay clips, go with the PS4. Its share and stream options are better.


If that's not important to you, get an XB1.

The only significant difference between the PS4 and XBOX One versions of Madden NFL is that you'll be able to play the XBOX One version a few days early if you subscribe to the EA Access program.

Beyond that, go with whichever console your friends play the most, or whichever console has the exclusives you want to play. Madden shouldn't be the fulcrum of your console purchase decision making when speaking to PS4 vs XBOX One.

For the record, I've played M25, M15, and (at E3) M16 each on both, and based on the game alone I don't have a preference because they are the same game.

The version to get is whichever controller you prefer and whichever one your friends play on. Those are the only things that really matter. Online is populated on both and both systems have their strengths and issues with online gameplay. You say you don't care about other games but I agree with CM you shouldn't just use Madden as the baseline. Look at the console exclusives for both, even if you don't care about them now you might one day in the future.

Doesn't matter, but since I have both, I like the color and fluidity of how it handles on PS4.

Also, I don't play it online so XBL doesn't come into play for my decision like it might for you.

To me sports and shooters are better on xbox one. And not because it does anything different or looks different. Is because the xbox one controller is better for sports and shooters. Not to mention you will be recharging a ps4 controller all day after a few hours only of gaming

RPG and adventure games/ action like Uncharted etc etc are best on PS4

There is no frame rate issues on xbox one version and it looks brighter which is good. Also the controller when you hit people feels like players have weight to them. Unlike the ps4 controller with the faint rumble that you cant feel
