Madden 16 Pre-release Impressions Thread

This will be the official thread for Madden 16 impressions. As of right now, the only person who may give impressions is reverend_heat. He confirmed with me that he has the game.



Remember this is the Impressions thread only NO QUESTIONS. There will be a Q/A thread as well.

First pass in first game I'm playing, Rodgers completes a cross to Adams, Defense called for PI! All-pro, default sliders. Unfortunately it was a one handed grab. Looked at replay, DB definitely shoved just before pass arrived

Was worried CPU DBS wouldn't play aggressive on long balls, so far they have. Also just had a punt bounce straight up in the air at the 5 yard line, downed inside the 5, wasn't expecting that.

is all pro difficulty hard to play ? how good is penalty slider affect gameplay ?

You mean in the thread that is for question and answer? Novel concept I know but we have a Q&A thread every release. Use that this is for impressions.

Not trying to ignore this thread but almost all impressions have been in response to people in the Q/A thread. Will post a more detailed breakdown after more games, this weekend probably.

Ok first game thru 3 quarters, me bears could vikings. 23-7 vikings.
I'm struggling with the new passing controls and I guess it doesn't help I'm using Jay cutler. Default all pro. 8 minute quarters. Some stats, Bridgewater 8-16 2tds 1 interception 163 yards passing, cutler 6-15 1td,1 interception 106 passing and 1 fumble. AP 18 carries for 82 yards and 1 fumble. Forte 12 carries for 27 yards.
I'll give more feedback after I finish the 4 quarter.

ok first game finished.

I'm getting more use to the new passing controls, passing does feel more rewarding when you do use the right controls. I will say there will be a little learning curve. As for Aggressive catch, i don't think it's OP being i only played one game so far, I went 2 for 5 aggress catch with kevin white and 1 for 3 to Alshon Jeffery and the cpu went 1 for 2 aggress to Johnson. Bridgewater took what my defense gave him, i play alot of cover three.

As for the running game , i had a hard time running with forte but vikings defense is good. I held in check the vikings running game in the first half for the most part , in the second half i felt like they were harder to stop, AP was starting to run over my guys as the game went on. I do think running the ball is harder but not in a bad way. I thought the cpu did a good job of running the ball on me.

Going to play some more games, be back later.

I'm starting to think the pass rush is underpowered , I'm talking about the front four, it seems like the only time i get a sack with my front four is a coverage sack. I've tried good teams with good front four's , like buffalo, KC, jets, ravens, texans, rams, seahawks.

8 minute quaters default all pro vs cpu.
going to do some more testing and try lowering the pass block slider.

Installing everything now. Am going to start off with a 15min qtr AP game (15 second play clock) with the following user sliders lowered (user only), QB Accuracy, Catching, Run Block, Pass Block, and INT will all be lowered to 40.

I am too afraid to stream on twitch because I hear they are still banning people but I will try to upload entire games 15 mins at a time. I will also try to answer any questions that haven't already been
