Is The New Aggressive Catch Overpowered? (Possible Tweak Coming In Tuning Update?)

Can't someone that already has the game just test the wr sliders now? It will save me time and money.. Not buy madden this year if all you gotta do is throw bombs all day to win and having top dB's is sherm,revised,ppete.. How the hell this wasn't fixed before shipping with months of testing is ridiculous! That is if it can't be fixed with sliders..

If aggressive catch success is tied to spectacular catch rating then yes, it will be overpowered. Just look at the spectacular catch ratings for all of the wrs. Even average wrs have spc ratings in the low 90s and high 80s

The aggressive catch isn't a one shot wonder. They go up and come down with it. It's not the same as throwing a deep ball and sprinting to the end zone.

Let's assume you get the ball at the 20. That wil take two deep balls to score. If that's all you try.. That's maybe 14 attempts.

If you complete 70% of those.. That's maybe 3 touchdowns assuming you complete more of the first shot down field from 20 instead of into the end zone.

You end up throwing 2-3 interceptions, I guarntee I would win vs you everytime. I just feel different about it, and I guess I've been in leagues where users don't win at any costs.

Also, I'm pretty sure if you can influence the catch type without switching on offense, it's the same on defense.

For what its worth

I watched a lot of that recal guys stream today, he was playing the CPU on all-madden. Aggressive catches seemed a little toned down at that level. There were some nice catches as well as some nice defensive plays. That's encouraging.

Unfortunately this isn't the case. Rex stated straight up in another thread that you have to switch to the DB to manually play the WR or the ball. They will do so on their own according to ratings, but the user can only influence if they're controlling the DB.

Which really sucks.

My guess is that we'll turn catching way down to combat the success rate of these aggressive catches.

Will I have to play on All-Madden this year or would adjusting the catch slider be enough for playing on All-Pro?
