Pre season auto playing

When I start a franchise, the preseason seems to auto play right away without me given the choice to control the games. I am assuming there is a setting or option that controls this...any idea which?

When you get to the menu to change role, setting etc after you select a team, there is a option at the top right. You can either sim to regular season or play preseason.

On a related note, when you choose the option to start at the beginning of the regular season, does it actually start you there or does it just autosim the preseason.

I'm wondering because I want to start my CFM on week one with opening day rosters and I don't want the CPU cutting players that are supposed to be on the team week 1.
