    Resigning players

Is it me or have they made it alot harder to resign your current players? I am vastly overpaying for guys and they keep on rejecting. I wish there was some sort of feedback.

Are you playing as a coach earning XP yourself? Last year they had those traits that made re-signing players easier that you may have to earn first.

      Re: Resigning players

Are these higher quality players that are rejecting your offer? Are you a franchise that generally can retain it's own?

I'm all for making things difficult and forcing to overpay but at a certain point I question if they lower their price to avoid going unsigned and settling in the FA pool.

        A) Are you a winning team?
        B) Are you in a big market?

It would be kind of nice if throwing your money at players isn't the end-all solution to make them sign.

            Re: Resigning players

Sorry. I am at work. I am playing in owner mode as the Dallas Cowboys . I have like 10 soon to be free agents and only 2 have resigned. Dez Bryant (whom I gave the contract he got in real life in my franchise) and Tyrone Crawford. I gave him slightly more than he asked for.

As for the other guys only Barry Church and Collins are big name guys. Church is asking for like 4 years at 5M per. I am offering him like 7M a year and he keeps on rejecting. Collins is making peanuts this year and I have offered him up to 6M per and he keeps on rejecting.

As for the other players they are basically depth guys. I was wondering if anyone else had an issue. I don't mind that it is difficult to resign just trying to gauge what it would take. I wish there was some sort of feedback from the player.

Are you offering them a signing bonus or just straight per year?

Offering them signing bonuses. I guess I will try to raise the signing bonus and lower the annual salary? Anyone else have this issue?

                  Re: Resigning players

I've found there more likely to sign a lower contact offer at the end of the year but try to maximize the amount throughout the season

I am playing as the Cowboys and had no issues getting players to sign for what they were asking or even a little less. Collins signed at 4M per year for me. (2M Salary 2M Bonus)

I will try this approach. Thanks.

                          Re: Resigning players

Something seems off to me also. I'm playing as the owner of the Bengals and Marvin Jones wants 4 years for 8 mil total. This is obviously super low and based on his injury rating I'm sure, so I offered him 4 years at 4 mil per year with 1 mil bonus per year and he is not accepting.

That's a 20 million dollar contract altogether, 12 million more than he is asking for and the same contract length. Keep in mind I did this in week 1, so it's not like his production is crazy or anything.

edit: forgot to mention he already has the "predictable" trait too, so shouldn't he be accepting what he's asking for?

                              Re: Resigning players

there is a real problem with re-signing players

please do not give the game credit for all of a sudden having signing logic.

Eric Fisher wanted 5-19.5 and still won't take 5-35.5, albert Wilson wants 1-750k, just turned down 1 year 7.5 million.

you can re-sign guys the first preseason, it seems to all of a sudden become impossible for whatever reason.
