How to Progress Players
I'm finding it difficult to progress my players in CFM this year. Last year I could just use game prep to boost my players at any position. Now, the game prep xp reward is around 50 xp, so it isnt too useful. You can use the drills to get xp, but the positions are so limited. If I want to upgrade my wide receiver am I just out of luck? Am I missing something? Any help is greatly appreciatedTags: None -

No, but they said they are aware of this issue and that they are working on "Fixing all of the release day issues" and will all be in the patch.Comment

Re: How to Progress Players
not sure why u need a patch..Yes u get just a little exp on that stuf however in the pre season and reg season games now you earn xp and confidence based on goals..example have my rb run for 50 yards gain xp, rush for a td, gain xp.. same for tackles sacks, catches ect.. im constanlty seeing white colored numbers for xp on catchesComment

Re: How to Progress Players
Most people are reporting getting a max of around 9k XP for a pro bowl season. If that is the case then best case scenario you're looking at over 2 seasons just to get someone out of Slow Dev. I've always wished that was something we could change in our roster file before starting a franchise. They seem to always randomly choose rookies to throw Slow Dev on. :/Comment

Re: How to Progress Players
I don't recall seeing anyone saying that the patch would necessarily increase the XP granted to players, was this mentioned somewhere? I know the whole drive goals thing leading to insane boosts was brought up, but personally I thought the drastically decreased XP was by game design and to definitely be more of a grind to upgrade players.Comment

Re: How to Progress Players
I have noticed this too in my player CFM. Like all the XP I get from developing my player weekly is basically meaningless, it wasn't like this last year.
It can't be all tied into drive goals, can it? That wouldn't be smart, sometimes the drive goals seem forced and make no sense within my gameplan, I just took them as suggestions.Comment

If this was the system when Luck was a rookie he would be 30 before he would be rated 99. It's way too stingy. Doesn't have to be like last year but somewhere in between.Spike DietComment

Re: How to Progress Players
Between XP/confidence in a H2H CFM I took Buccaneers receiver Robert Herron (signed as a FA to CAR) to 99 everything in less than two seasons.
Had Stephen Hill looking like Randy Moss, Cam was 95+ in all accuracies, every starting OL member was 95+, all my DB's/S's who I signed as just fast low rated guys were all 90+ in man/zone/press all by season threes end.
In short just in the last Madden my entire team was 90+ in every positional related attribute category. That should be impossible. Not to mention keeping the awr low to prevent boosted overalls allowed them all to be re-signed cheaply.
The two years before that it was even easier. I haven't hopped into the CFM yet, but I like it being harder will make relevant players IRL last longer, creating more immersion and realistic progression. I mean most players don't begin to blossom til after the 3rd season or so, aside from the outliers. The Impact of User vs User Sliders In CFM 5.0*

Re: How to Progress Players
Re: How to Progress Players
The model is setup to play every game in CFM for maximum reward. Full simming you definitely get less XP.
Maybe that aspect of the model is off a bit, but I do think it was game design this year to not be able to craft a 99 OVR team of backups by just spamming XP to death. However, while I like the idea of less XP than last year, I think striking a balance will be necessary to keep people's attention this year. If they don't, some people may give up on CFM when they can't develop their young players.
So that's the main concern I have as they take a look at this in possible patches. I just personally wish it wasn't XP-based and more randomized.Last edited by EricFreakingBerry; 08-28-2015, 09:01 AM.Comment

I wish they would look at MLB The Show's progression/regression system. IMO that is far and away the best and most natural training/progression/regression system around.PC Specs:

I agree but it isn't perfect.
For example this year drafted pitchers became too good too quick. Most people devised a system in which they lowered the potential of all incoming drafted pitchers.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives
