Anyone using the Eagles in CFM?

..would like some of your observations, and i'll share mine.

Settings: Vanilla Pro. I always start on Pro to get used to the nuances of the new version, then bump up to all-pro. I recreated the roster cuts, and simmed up to the Jets preseason game.

Observation #1 Bradford gets minor injury on his 3rd series. And out for the game. This folks, might be a true-to-life-harbinger.

Observation #2 The receivers are terrible at securing the ball. Bradford gets the ball to them on a dime and they can't hold on to it. Ertz is ok. Matthews is so-so. Everyone else always gets the ball stripped unless they are wide open.

Observation #3 Against the Dirty Birds, I cant tell if Ryan and WR corps are that good, or the new Eagles secondary is that bad, but Ryan ended up throwing for over 75% completion and 3 TDs. I used a mix of zone and man, blitzing Graham, Kendricks at times, Barwin, press coverage, loose coverage. I guess a great QB is just that.

Observation #4 The 4-headed running back monster (and not Bradford) won the game for me, as I ran a mix of Shotgun hurry-up, and singleback formations. Its just not fair bringing in a good fresh back every other down. MUAHAHA

Do you play online h2h as well with the Eagles? Like you mentioned, the run game makes or break my success. Being able to alternate between Murray, Matthews, Sproles and even Barner is deadly. Barner's speed actually won me a close online game yesterday after he broke a 30-yard run to set up a game winning FG. I put him and Sproles as my kick returners. Do you have Ertz or Celek as your starter?

I play mostly head to head games and always as the eagles, so far this year I have been plagued with drops and wild overthrows on simple routes. I am at the point I am hesitant to pass the ball anymore. Luckily I do most of my damage with the run and screen passes.

Just need a roster update, bradford is deserving of mid 80s IMO, but i get it that he hasnt played in awhile

Im just playin cfm until my 10hrs of ea access is up.. $$ is tight, plus im not tryin to get burned out to quick like i did last year ;P

I use Ertz, but I only see him in the singleback formations, because celek is my extra passblocker in the shotgun. Usually when i go to singleback its to run or pass to Ertz exclusively. Its worked well so far

Yeah, we'll see. They dont want to be too hasty with the stats. Remember how quick they changed Shady last year?

Anyway, im staying my hand from "doing the deal" for Mariota right now XD

As a lifelong South Philly boy, I'm looking forward to running my first Madden franchise(now CFM) since the PS2 days, with the Eagles of course. I've been trying to limit my time with the game until the patch drops because I want it to feel as fresh as possible when I start. I gotta say, I'm ready to go. Time to end the 55 year drought!

Huge Eagles fan here. I pretty much only use them for CFM.

I've been using armor and swords sliders.

Let me just say, injuries are out of control ( off the chain ?).

Jason peters out for 13 weeks , preseason week 4 injury due to simming

Things went fine until week 6 (I was 4-1) playing the 0-5 giants. Well in this game:

Bradford out 6 weeks, broken hand.

Two quarters later, Sanchez out 8 weeks, herniated disk. One quarter later, Murray out 5 weeks twisted knee.

Tebow finishes out the game, which was close until all those injuries. I end up losing 35-13. (Simmed the last Q and had the Giants score 17 points...I hate the sim function)

I've got to turn the injuries down...I sure hope this isn't foreshadowing , lol

Re: Anyone using the Eagles in CFM?

Hey man. Die hard Eagles fan here. I have not run another team in CFM since Madden 13. Just cant get into playing with other teams.

Anyway, I started an Eagles franchise first night I got the game. I usually sim a lot and play key games and divisional matchups. First game against the Falcons, Nelson Agholor partially tore his ACL, which sucked. But, I was able to eek out a win.

In the Sunday night game against Dallas, I was up 26-14 with 1:45 left and lost 28-26 on a last second hail mary from Romo to Street. It was brutal! But, I got my revenge in the wild card round. I played at Dallas, who won the division at 11-5 (I was 10-6). Luckily for me, Romo was hurt for the year and Brandon Weeden was their QB. I routed them 34-0 at Jerry World.

The following week, the dominance continued with a shocking 27-7 road win in Seattle. Unfortunately, the miracle run came to an end in the NFC Championship Game with a 36-34 loss to Minnesota. The Vikings would lose the Super Bowl to New England.

I've found that I've had more success on the ground with Ryan Matthews than I have with Murray. I just like his style better in Madden. Ertz is very clutch for me, especially on flag routes. I ditched Riley Cooper and signed Josh Gordon after year one, so we'll see how that works out.

On defense, I've basically maintained the same core. I moved Eric Rowe back to safety to line up next to Malcolm Jenkins. I then used my 1st rounder in 2016 on a CB.

The great thing about the Eagles is that they're pretty much set at most positions for 2-3 years. The only things you really need to improve is CB, S, and OG. If you want to find a QB other than Bradford, you can. But, I've found that even with his 79 rating, he's deadly accurate.

Ive found Ertz to be the best passcatcher as well. As for Gordon, I dont know if I can go that route lol. I love runnin' the ball, and I think I can probably get the job done with Ertz/Matthews.

I'd LOVE to run a base Read Option with Mariota, but i'm going to stay true to the real franchise, save a major injury to Bradford

What I had to do is open up the playbook get more formations put Agholor in the slot or Matthews im having a ball . The one thing Im not loving is the guard play. Play a team with good dline kinda hard to do anything. Then Bradford gets hurt or spazes. Plus they really nerfed his deep ball

Re: Anyone using the Eagles in CFM?

in my first CFM on all pro sliders with human run blocking at 0 i broke the single season rushing record with Murray and won the superbowl. though, I completely blame the whole player ratings bug thing that jacked the ratings of my whole team practically every other game. i actually had to hold back a lot of times to avoid it getting too unrealistic. like the game i broke the single game rushing record in like the 3rd quarter. passing the ball i wasn't so great bradford was injured for a few games and he only had 18 TD 18 INT which is not very good.

cant wait for the bug to be fixed so i can start over! hopefully it will be more realistic

Injuries kind of happen like that when you're simming, more often than not. Eagles is one of the teams Ive begun using this year, and I'm only two games into my preseason and I have little issues with them. My only gripe is being unable to run the ball. Bradford can make his passes, receivers drop balls often, but that's a normal occurrence this year, regardless of what team you're using. But my guys still make a pretty fair amount of catches.
